1  Re: Floral Bag Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Nutella on: August 03, 2007 07:18:28 PM
Wow! That bag is also fabulous! I'm not brave enough to mix fabrics like that- I stick to one fabric for the outside and one for the inside. Maybe I should branch out Wink

Branch! Definitely. It's so worth it for the fun you can have!

I was a goofball and didn't take a picture of the inside fabric. Seriously silly of me! Here's a shot of a scrap of it with the outside fabric. The color match is probably better than this shot looks.

Yes, I am VERY lucky with the bag I got from AndreaMarie! Gorgeous bag! And thanks for posting the clearer picture.  Smiley

Here's the bag I sent to andreamarie- she reports that the bag was opened mysteriously! Fortunately the person seeking... whatever... didn't want a purse. Whew!

I also made her a hair clip (inspired by this summer's Marie Claire Idees):

I just received from AndreaMarie! Oh my goodness, I LOVE my bag!

It's a messenger bag style, and absolutely awesome.

Behold, the terrible in-mirror photo!

Detail of the awesome sparkly buckle (and check out that rockin stitch pattern for the seam!)

As soon as I hear that AndreaMarie has recieved, I can post hers too.

4  Is my iron dead? in Discussion and Questions by Nutella on: July 09, 2007 06:32:57 PM
I was happily ironing some fabric, my iron was puffing out great gusts of "steam" and all was well. Then, *drip drip drip* the iron made a tiny splootch. Now, I've had that happen when I tried to to use lots of steam and the iron wasn't hot yet.

But this time, when I set it back down, it outright puddled, and mostly out of the lower left steam hole.

See:

So the real question is: is my iron dead? Is there a fix for this? Just use it without water? Or are we in "insides go melty, and sparks are next" territory?

5  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Nutella on: July 01, 2007 09:35:41 AM
Here are all the goodies I *sent* to AtomEve (since she's been distracted by the shiny needles...)

There are stickers and ribbon and lanyard "yarn" (I heard Annie Modesitt say that it knits underwater really well!) and of course the garden of temptation postcard (in honor of AtomEve's name!) stitch markers, jewelry, magnets, cards, a pin, belt buckle... oh, and the thing dangling at the top is a keychain. Or a really dangly stitch marker!

And the soap is what smelled so good.  Grin

AtomEve sent me the most fantastic package, full of goodies like handmade earrings, a knit washcloth! and an apron, and gorgeous tins. So many awesome things.

Here the "ball" is partway through being unwound. I was a lucky girl and got a 2nd skein because AtomEve underestimated how much yarn was needed!

Here's me really really excited, about halfway through unwinding my MYB from AtomEve

Whee! Blur! (Thank god for winders!)

And modeling the aperon (pun courtesy of AtomEve):

7  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Nutella on: June 29, 2007 03:11:04 PM
I just looked through this thread, and I've somehow never manged to post photos from my wedding back in January!

Here's all the fun!

Some of the menz standing about before the ceremony

With this ring...

Us with the signed license!

Dancing the night away...

I'm not sure what I was saying to him there, I think it was something about our friends seeming like papparazzi!

I was clever and decided the ceremony should be an hour before sunset for the best lighting!

Hey Nutella, your hat looks an awful lot like a tea cozy...

And it does fit the teapot a bit better than my head!

Just in time for a perfect Mother's Day gift for my mother! Sending it off now!

9  Re: 12 Days Of Christmas Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by Nutella on: December 29, 2006 09:53:36 AM
I've kept my eyes closed and not looked at anything just in case shewilldieyoung posted pictures already- I'm only part way through opening my presents this morning (I was delayed by a ridiculous and awful wedding crisis, but you will all be glad to know that yes, we will be able to get a marriage license!) but I wanted to come in and start typing because I am SO LUCKY! I think I'm going to wake up my sweetie with all my gasping and squeaking and ooohing!  Cheesy

I'll come back to post some photos, but first I want to say that shewilldieyoung has AMAZING jewelry skills! Oh. My. Goodness!! She made day 9 necklace and earrings day, and I will be so lucky to wear each and every piece! And I know people will stop and ask me where to get jewelry as cool as mine!

Oh, and day 10- bath and beauty day: not only are there delicious smells and balms, but the soaps are in seahorse, whale and other ocean critter forms! (That was one of the squeals, when I saw the seahorses!)

And my box had other goodies in it- shewilldieyoung, how did you know I love the "always soft" candy canes?  Kiss

Ok, off to open more goodies- will be back with an update, I'm sure!!  Grin

Ok, back with more pictures and more ooohs and aaahs!!

First, a shot of everything in this box before opening:

Then, Day 10's bath and beauty awesomeness, with scrapbook paper from Day 11 behind it:

Here is the astounding and wonderful Day 9 of jewelry:

Day 8 had stencils! There were christmas ones, and also winter ones, with snowmen and snowflakes!

Day 7 was yarn! Yarny goodness! Blue and cream fluffyness and teal chenille smooshiness!

Day 6 was Paisley madness! Here's a glimpse of some of the paisley glory - bag, box (!), cards, and hand-bound book (!!!):

Not pictured are world traveler and socialite Paisley LuGagge-Tag, as she couldn't get away from Ribbon Paisley By-The-Roll.

Day 5 was crafty goodness! Zippers! Fabric! Thread! Shrinky-dink sheets! I shall take over the world with my creations!

Day 3 was the most adorable ornaments ever to appear upon my Who-Ville tree! Witness:

I'm making the sweetie wait to open his half of day two until mine arrives! Mwwahahahahaha! Now if the darned postal service will get their act together, I would like the rest of shewilldieyoung's hard work to get here and be appreciated by all! *tapping foot*

Shewilldieyoung, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Everything is so fantastic, I really and truly love every bit of it!!!!
