I made this today hoping for a totally different look, i wasn't going for the country look so much, but that's how it turned out, and i still love it. It's made with brown corduroy, and has two rows of ruffles on each side. it's lined with the same material, and has a large back pocket across the back. as soon as i get my bum to the fabric store, i will put a covered button on the tab closure (just for looks, it has a snap closure under it.) and one on the back to hold the pocket closed.
it's been awhile since i've posted anything... but yesterday i was feeling inspired. I had this idea for a purse for awhile now... and i've tried a couple different techniques. yesterday, i successfully completed one, but now i'm kind of iffy about it... but i decided to share anyhow.
Hi, I have an idea for some curtains, but need some ideas for the materials...
I've been sewing for years, so the actual making of the curtains is nothing. I'm just going to get maybe white chiffon, or some slinky sheer and make an extra long (so long it piles on the floor maybe) panel. The window is only maybe a yard wide. anyhoo...
but then i wanted to add some beaded curtain type things. I basically wanted just 3 or 4" wide discs strung going down the curtain, attached only at the top. i just don't know what to make the discs from, or get them relatively cheap. I would prefer them transparent, but they don't have to be, and they need to be black. * my living room is mostly black and white *
any suggestions would be soooooo very appreciated.
I saw a bag on here awhile ago that was this shape. i can't find it now though, but that was the inspiration for this one, i used black thin vinyl (it looks like i made it from an old trash bag in the pics, but it looks kinda leathery in real life.) I put the stars in myself, which was a pain in the bottom. once i got it figured out, it was actually kind of easy. :-)
so total props to the girl who made the first one, i believe it had a green and white vintage print on it.
This is it in all it's glory, hanging out on my floor.
this one is a kinda close up of the stars, it was hard to get them photographed because of the flash and the sheen on the vinyl.
this is another angle of the stars on there, and a little closer up.
anyhow, thanks for looking!

sorry it took so long to repost. hope this was understandable. if not, let me know and i'll clarify. and if you make one, post it, so i can see.
this is kind of a random question, does anyone know where i can get a lot of stencils laser cut fairly cheap? i'm looking to sell them, so i don't want to spend to much. any info would be great. Thanks.
