thank you both for your ideas. I'm not sure about a salvage yard, but i'm sure there is one somewehre here. I thought about plexiglass, but i thought it might be hard to do the circles... so i thought if i went in that direction, (having to cut something myself), i would just do squares and rectangles, use two pieces of plexiglass per square (front and a back) and sandwich it over black vellum paper and string them together that way.

I definately need to make my way to the hardware store also. I have some other ideas too that involve that trip.

The bead idea is also great, i didn't think about that.

now even more ideas are popping into my head...

you all are brilliant... thanks again. :-)

Hi, I have an idea for some curtains, but need some ideas for the materials...

I've been sewing for years, so the actual making of the curtains is nothing. I'm just going to get maybe white chiffon, or some slinky sheer and make an extra long (so long it piles on the floor maybe) panel. The window is only maybe a yard wide. anyhoo...

but then i wanted to add some beaded curtain type things. I basically wanted just 3 or 4" wide discs strung going down the curtain, attached only at the top. i just don't know what to make the discs from, or get them relatively cheap. I would prefer them transparent, but they don't have to be, and they need to be black. * my living room is mostly black and white *

any suggestions would be soooooo very appreciated.

thanks

i would suggest the hooks on the wall. also, one thing i did (not a lot of space in the bedroom for that kind of stuff), is went to the craft store, got a piece of plastic canvas, tacked i to the wall, and that is what all of my earrings hang from. it takes basically no space at all, and it's easy to find both earrings.
