1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Resin Layers on: May 30, 2015 02:38:28 PM
Anytime I have layered resin, they have been seamless, and it amazes me every time.  Wink

I have only ever used EnviroTex resin, although it shouldn't be different with other kinds of resin.

You could always do a small test piece, just do a couple layers.... i really don't think there will be any seams though. Smiley
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Necklace Chain Alternatives? on: November 24, 2013 01:29:09 PM
I'm kinda pumping out a lot of necklaces lately, usually I buy a spool at Michael's, 12yds at 9.99, with a 50% off coupon, so 5 bucks.  But 12 yards isn't very much, i like longer necklaces.

Aside from ribbon, does anyone have any ideas as an alternative to necklace chain?

Just curious and thanks in advance!

I work at Joann's, and we sell those vile/tube things, as is, in our jewelry section.  Smiley
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Does anyone use Store Envy? on: October 07, 2013 05:18:09 PM
I know that Etsy is great, because everyone knows about it, and checks it, and searches on there, and loves it.

But I just came across Store Envy, checking it out now, does anyone have advice, opinions, do's or don'ts for this place?

I think i'm just excited to try something new.

holy crap!!! i love all of those! can i ask what molds you used? the owl is amazing! i have to get that mold, i have a black pigment that would be perfect for it.

Where do you get your pigments? I just use glitter, its getting old.  :/

The mold is Martha Stewart, got it at Joanns.

I only had about 200 pendants just chillin' in my "craft corner".  I figured, stop making 'em, and do something with them!

SO here's what I made.

I think they came out really cool, I just wish I had more gold chain, i only had one left.  :/

Thats weird, my last message wasnt there.  o_O thats okay....

I went back to the SAME target, and they magically had two of the spider trays.  I bought them both.  Thanks for the heads up!

I just purchased a resin kit, I just need to purchase the molds, so I'm about to drink the cool aid too. Smiley Cute items!
Cheap silicone molds work great. Target always seems to have some cute ones in their $1 stuff. Ive gotten a ton from there, lightning bolts, dollar signs, pixel hearts, pickles, beer bottles, hotdogs, jsut to name the ones Ive gotten recently.

Did you see the new Halloween ones? I just picked up a few, fingers, eyeballs and ears, and spiderwebs.

Kizzie, I would gladly pay for one.  Gonna go to a different target later and see what they have.

Also, 99 cent only stores have a bunch in their kitchen section, ducks, fish, butterflies, mustaches.  And pumpkin/skulls in halloween section.

I have no idea if people are really just using these for ice, but I love that they are so IN right now. haha.

Lucky! My Target didnt have ANY halloween molds.

I have to return one of the two spiderweb molds i bought because it has holes in it. normally for a $1 i would just throw it out, but i'm kinda peeved at target so yea.

i did notice some stuff in the $1 section varies from target to target. I don't know if that helps. I have seen some of the molds i bought in target for $1 being sold on ebay for $5! but if you look at the tag that is still on the mold it reads $1.  If I find more i will try and pick up extras, and if anyone would like one it will only be $1 plus shipping. i'm not trying to make money just help out some fellow crafters!

I'm curious about the color of the beak and the eye too!  I've seen a tutorial where a girl painted nail polish on her molds, a few layers, let it dry, poured in the resin, and it cane out as if it was part of it.  HMMM, time to experiment.
