2  Finally made something with my resin pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by BarbecutieJunk on: October 04, 2013 12:30:50 AM
I only had about 200 pendants just chillin' in my "craft corner".  I figured, stop making 'em, and do something with them!

SO here's what I made.

I think they came out really cool, I just wish I had more gold chain, i only had one left.  :/

3  DIY Silicone Mold with Cornstarch - Questions in Discussion and Questions by BarbecutieJunk on: September 09, 2013 06:06:33 PM
Has anyone ever tried this?? I bought silicone, corn starch and baby oil today to make some molds.  But the molds don't seem as "siliconey" or bouncy as they do in the tutorial videos I watched on youtube.  And of course in those videos they don't say the amount to use of either ingredient, maybe my portions are off.  But it feels more like a dry crumbly clay, so I added more silicone and then it was too sticky.  If anyone has tips or tricks, pleassssse let me know!

Also included: a pic of the ingredients I bought, and a couple molds i'm working on.

4  Merkin wearing Rat in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by BarbecutieJunk on: August 20, 2013 05:26:14 PM
I have a friend who loves rats and we thought merkins were hilarious.

Two things though. I had no idea what a "merkin" was.

Merkin: A pubic wig. Merkins were originally worn by prostitutes after shaving their genitalia, and are now used as decorative items, erotic devices, or in films, by both men and women

Now that is out of the way, I also never painted with water colors before. I think it came out pretty good!  I traced first, so that helped tons.

5  I've finally found my favorite craft in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by BarbecutieJunk on: July 26, 2013 06:11:20 PM
RESIN!

I'm new to resin, so if the topic is old or played I apologize ahead of time.

Holy crap, its so fun and easy.  What does everyone else think about resin?  Tips, tricks, problems? Hates, loves?

Its like christmas morning every time my pendants are ready to pop outta the molds. Lol...
