1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES / Garden Gnome for a Garden Gnome's Garden on: August 04, 2006 01:42:35 PM
Inspired by these pajamas,

I made a 1 1/4 inch garden gnome.

Here he is with a yard stick and a quarter for size comparison

The gnome is made out of sculpy. To make him, I stuck him on a toothpick and used a sewing needle to carve his features. To make his tiny rake, I cut little pieces of wire and glued them together using a pair of tweezers and super glue and then painted it with acrylic paint.

And for another size conparison, here he is, the garden gnome for the garden gnome's garden

Hi,
I've been obsessively reading and looking at everything on craftster for a couple of weeks now and decided to finally post something.
I made these tonight after wondering what to do with a bunch of purple christmas lights I had hanging around.

These are very very easy to make.
You will need a strand of lights and a bunch of "silk" flowers (I used purple waterlillys). in the middle of each flower there will be a plastic center that you need to pull out, leaving you with two or more layers of petals with a hole in the middle. Now simply push the light through the center of the petal and, voila!
