11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / My first Boppy cover! (now with SKULL boppy!) on: June 02, 2007 04:38:36 PM
My best friend is due at the beginning of September, and she was unsatisfied with the selection of Boppy covers that Babies R Us had. So of course I had to make her one! But first I decided to make a practice run:

I'll probably give this one to her sister-in-law that just had a baby in March. I think the colour scheme matches her carseat/stroller/pack-n-play.

This is the fabulous fabric that I'm going to use for my best friend's. The lady at Joann's was rather shocked when I told her what it was going to be used for! Wink

EDIT: After weeks of procrastination, I finally finished it and gave it to her. She loved it!

Oh yeah, and I know several people on here wanted a tutorial for Boppy covers... I got mine from http://economicalbaby.blogspot.com

12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "Junk Mail" ATC swap on: March 16, 2007 05:04:02 PM
I was trying to think of a new idea for an ATC swap when I noticed my pile of junk mail on the table by the front door.  Would anyone be interested in an ATC swap where at least one part of the card is from the junk mail advertisements? I'd love to see what people can come up with  Wink
13  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Paper Wings on: March 01, 2007 06:34:24 AM
I guess I'll start things off! I've been waiting impatiently for the 1st to get here  Tongue

These are my favourite ATC's I've made yet. The wings are all different scraps of magazine clippings.

And a different angle to try to stop the glare:

14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / State x-stitch? on: January 26, 2007 07:01:43 PM
I know that I have seen free x-stitch patterns of the 50 states online before, and now that I need them I can't find them! (isn't that just how it always goes?) Does anyone know where I can find the patterns online?

Thanks!  Smiley
15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Guitar Hero Swap? on: January 13, 2007 05:22:19 AM
I just bought my boyfriend the Guitar Hero game for Christmas, and I'm addicted! Would anyone else be interested in a crafty swap for this? Because I'd totally organize one if there's interest.
16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / I pity the fool! on: October 06, 2006 01:42:40 PM
Today was one of my best friend's birthday, and we have an inside joke about Mr. T (well, not really an "inside joke"... we're just obsessed, can you blame us?!) so I made this little tote for her:

His face is brown felt witht he details embroidered on and gold chains that are sewn on. I also made pins for it out of random funky buttons. She loved it, and I loved making it for her  Cheesy

Details of swap:

I thought I'd organize a second round of this swap, because we all love our frisky feline friends (even if we don't own one!). Here are a few rules:

- You do not need to own a cat to participate!
- You will need to craft at least ONE large item and TWO small items - if you want to craft more, please FEEL FREE TO TALK TO YOUR PARTNERS! Communication is a huge part of these swaps.
- Swap items do not just have to be for the cats - the owners need some lovin' too!
- NO HANDMADE CAT COLLARS! You may buy a special break-away cat collar from a store and embellish it as long as it is kitty-safe.
- Please make sure to read all of your partner's info closely before sending - someone who does not own a cat would not really need cat toys Wink
- You MUST get a Delivery Confirmation # from the post office when you mail out (or hold onto a receipt or other documentation proving that you mailed your package). It's an extremely inexpensive way of assuring you, your partner, and organizer that you did indeed send out.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?:

What is your crafting specialty? (knitting, sewing, etc.)

Is there anything specific that you would not like to receive:
Tell your partner a little bit about yourself:

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / cat swap? on: August 01, 2006 06:30:13 PM
I did a search on it and saw there's been several cat swaps (and even a black cat swap! dang, I can't believe I missed that!) - would anyone be up for another? Either a black cat or just cats in general?
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / cigarette case? on: May 14, 2006 08:52:22 AM
Yesterday we had an Herb & Craft festival downtown, and one of the booths had all these matching totes, credit card holders, cell phone cases, checkbook covers, etc. and they also had some cigarette cases. I didn't like any of the patterns so I thought "Hey! I could make one myself". I've been looking for a sewing pattern, has anyone made one of these before? It shouldn't be too hard to make a pattern myself, just thought I'd see what else people have come up with.
