31  Re: Pumpkins! Please share your Jack O Lanterns in Halloween Decor and Parties by megan+mary on: October 31, 2006 05:57:35 PM
The boyfriend and I bought the fake pumpkins from Michael's and carved them. They weren't as sturdy as real pumpkins (obviously) but they definitely were cleaner and better to keep in our second-story apartment! You also cannot use real candles in them, so luckily for my best friend's wedding they used battery-powered "candles" and I just happened to have two!  Cheesy

Mine, freehanded but based on a pattern in a children's carving book

Yay, I love everyone's pages!!! I only took pictures of 3 of mine, because they were really the only ones that I was completely satisfied with. And they're still nothing in comparison to all of yours!

What would you tell Fiskars about sewers:

If sewing were taken away from me:

That damn Survivor question - surprisingly similar to Pinky's. Great minds think alike, eh?  Wink

Today was one of my best friend's birthday, and we have an inside joke about Mr. T (well, not really an "inside joke"... we're just obsessed, can you blame us?!) so I made this little tote for her:

His face is brown felt witht he details embroidered on and gold chains that are sewn on. I also made pins for it out of random funky buttons. She loved it, and I loved making it for her  Cheesy

I received my angel package from fizzledimpulse today! Either it's highly coincidental that it's exactly what I love (black cat, blue star, mismatched button eyes) or someone has been checking out some of my other posts Wink

Thank you sooooo much! I love it, and so does my kitty (she gave it kisses when I took it out of the box!). It almost makes me glad that I was flaked on!  Cheesy

Alright, everyone's send/receive info should be updated on the first page. Let me know if it's incorrect.

And I also realized something - the cat silhouette on the bag is just like my tattoo I have on the inside of my upper arm!

Yes, I love my baby very much  Cheesy

I received today from lady4feet [WOW that was fast!] and I love everything!

These are the things for me (sorry the picture's so big, I wanted you to be able to see the beautiful plaque)

Little charms, a plaque with kitty quotes and pictures of my baby, a cute notepad (with magnets on the back, I needed a new fridge notepad!), and two little tins (the kitty one she filled with gel wax)

Raziel with her goldfish toy

Raziel saving her parrot toy from falling off the couch

Raziel's new placemat (and a shot of the two toys) - it matches her food bowls! I love it, I've been wanting a skeleton fishy placemat for a long time but haven't gotten around to buying/making one. Oh, and the dark spot on it is water - I managed to spill her water dish two seconds after putting the mat on the floor  Roll Eyes

The only thing I didn't get a picture of is the crinkle sack that lady4feet also sent. I wanted to get an action shot of it, but Raziel was too distracted by her toys - although I'm sure once she notices it she'll LOVE it. We can't leave plastic bags laying anywhere because she loves to jump on them and crawl inside, so now she can still get the crinkle sound but be safe from suffocation.

Thank you sooooo much lady4feet! I love everything!!!

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to have to make another cat doll for myself, I love it so much.

I got jamesdean's doll in the mail today, and it is super cute!

It's body and head are made of clay, the arms and legs are beaded, and the hair is spiral-y wire. It's so funky, I love it! There's a pin on the back, and I'd love to put it on a purse or my bookbag, but I have a habit of just throwing my belongings around, and I wouldn't want to ruin it.

And just because my cat was being so nosey and wanted to be in the picture:

My camera didn't take a very great picture, but here is the "I is for Ichabod" that correctionwife sent me. It's Ichabod Crane being chased by the Headless Horseman! I love it:

I found one picture of the doll I sent to jamesdean, I had others but I don't know what I did with them.

Like she said, I based it off of our mutual love for black cats. The way I define hoodoo is something that brings happiness to you. For me, that's black cats and I'm sure any black cat owner feels the same (or any cat owner, period!). And so I created this:

For it being the first doll I've ever made, I was quite pleased with the way it turned out  Cheesy

Okay, I finally uploaded the pictures that I took of the G and H cards I received:

G is for "glass" and "gardenia" from teapotdnky
H is for "hobby horse" from rackycoo

And the G card actually doubles as a window cling! Here it is in action:

(yes, some people keep their christmas lights up year round - I keep my Halloween decorations up year round  Tongue)
