1  plaid button down for boyfriend =D in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by irishride23 on: February 03, 2010 03:59:59 PM
my boyfriend is obsessed with plaid flannel shirts, and since i have no money i made him one for christmas! i used simplicity number 5366 and a plaid flannel i found shoved behind some florals at Hancock fabrics. it was my lucky day!

here's the full length...on my female dressform lol. excuse the wrinkles and dirty laundry.
it has a pocket that you can't see very well and all my plaids matched up nicely!

and here's the collar...which actually turned out perfectly even though it was my first attempt.

this is my adorable bf, who looks just like jack barakat from all time low right? he loves the shirt and brags on me all the time when he wears it. i actually had to take it in like 8 inches all over because he's incredibly skinny. nearly emaciated. but yes, hand made gifts are the best kind!

2  adorable paisley apron for my sister! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by irishride23 on: December 31, 2009 01:39:11 PM
For christmas, my older sister who recently moved out asked me to make her an apron. Since I'm broke, i happily obliged!

I used the instructions from this website: http://jonag.typepad.com/stop_staring_and_start_se/2008/12/your-christmas-gift-from-mean-apron-in-an-hour.html
it was incredibly easy, quick, and cute!

here it is on my dressform, foxy lady.

and here is a close up of the bow. sorry the pictures have such a glare..my camera is really crappy. the fabric is a paisley calico from hancock fabrics. you only need a half yard and one fat quarter!

it turned out really nicely..and i wish i could keep it for myself!
