1  Re: Ongoing Hoopla Swap Round 7 Discussion & Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Poison_Of_Gull on: August 17, 2012 10:14:15 AM
Yay! I got my hoops from both of my partners.

Cursive_Queen sent me this amazing Adventure time hoop. It is peppermint butler. She went totally went above and beyond! She painted the outside of the hoop to match the threads. She also gave him little arms and tail like on a waist coat! Squeeee! I wonder if she taught him to serve tea...

Here is the wonderful hoop I got from TheManicCrafter! The theme was steampunk. The stitching is beautiful, and she should be giving a class on french knots! Also I love that his bum is a clog  Cheesy (Also maybe I just wanted to say bum)

Thank you to my lovely lovely partners!

2  A fancy Owl and Dapper Robot! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Poison_Of_Gull on: August 10, 2012 10:30:39 PM
These were for a recent swap. They are my first two hoops ever! I think they turned out well.

I made the robot have a top hat and a monocle, not just because it is awesome, but also because I didn't put them on the owl even though my boyfriend begged me to put a top hat on the owl for some reason  Cheesy

Hope everyone enjoys!

3  Friendship is.... MAGIC! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Poison_Of_Gull on: August 02, 2012 08:00:19 PM
This is a gift for a friend of my boyfriends. He has a sign in his office that says NO PONY FOR YOU! Which is what he directs people to when they ask him for things that they do not need or deserve. Making it AppleJack from Friendship is Magic was actually my boyfriends idea. He was like "DO THAT ONE, IT LOOKS LIKE A TEXAS PONY!" (His friend is from texas)

The tail took a god awful long time to finish lol

I didn't have a pattern, so I just made my own which actually turned out pretty well.

Let me know what you think!

4  Mermaid Pendent in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Poison_Of_Gull on: July 21, 2012 04:07:34 PM
WOW! This took me a long time to make.

Was it the polymer clay back that took a long time? Noooo...that wasn't it.

Was it cutting out the little mermaid and layering her on card stock over and over to make her stand out?.... Noooo that wasn't it.

The matching earrings took me all of 10 minutes as a last minute thought....

Oh I know why it took so long, I accidentally super glued little purple beads all over my skirt Cheesy I made these for my craft swap group. It was a pirate swap. I think it turned out lovely, and secretly wished I could have kept it! Hehe.

Sorry it took me so long to post pictures! I have had a busy weekend. Wait until you see this because I got spoiled!

First off I got this Power Puff Girls "Saving the world before bedtime" Night light. I think this is so adorable!

Next thing I got was the Burn Notice Mug. I love this show so much, and I'm glad crazyda79 got an excuse to watch it!

This might be my favorite, it was hard to choose, it is a SpongeBob clip magnet for the fridge. Not only did I need one of these, I love the little anchor and the cute little pictures all over it.

Now for my extras! These went along with the theme perfectly and I love love love them. Included was a SpongeBob bag and temp tattoos, Power Puff Girls stickers and Ahh!!!! Real Monsters envelops.

THANK YOU SO MUCH BRENDA! I LOVE IT ALL! This was a wonderful first swap, and I can't wait to cover some of the kids I watch with tattoos! Haha.

6  My latest stuffed monster! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Poison_Of_Gull on: June 23, 2012 08:37:42 PM
I love making stuffed monsters! I use old clothing, and anything I can get my hands on really!

This is Snarly. I gave him to my sweetheart as a gift. Nothing says love like a monster with big gnashing teeth! For me I think the hardest part to finish was the mouth. Getting all of those teeth to stay in place took forever.

It took me months to finish him. After I made the body I just got stuck.

Then I got this red fluffy faux fur, and it all came together.

This was also before I actually had a sew room.

All in all, the finished project ended up nice and scary.
