Oh, hey ya'll! Project dump!

Class: Divination
House: Gryffindor
Project: December Daily Pages 2014
Details:  A couple more Decmeber Daily pages, definitely created for the child in my life in mind. All my scrapbooks will one day be hers and I hope she will cherish them and look back with fond memories at all the things we have done together.

Class: Flying

Project: Christmas Coloring
Details:  I couldn't let my daughter have all the Christmas coloring fun. This coloring page even features smoke cozily drifting out of the cabins. Smiley

Project: More December Daily Pages 2014
Details:  In honor of apples, the following pages of my Decmeber Daily feature lots of red. Smiley

OWL Subject & Option
: Study of Ancient Runes, Option 1-Use an intricate charted design
House: Gryffindor
Project Name
: Wee Little Pirate Costume
Brief Description: Some of you may remember the Dorothy costume I made for Luna last year. Truth be told, I haven't really sewed anything (with a sewing machine) since then. Lol. I can sew, but I don't do it much so when I do it's like learning it all over again. Sewing patterns may be easy for some but for me they are definitely intricate. I must confess. I worked on this a little for a week or two, abandoned it due to hectic work life then completed the majority of it by working on it all day for two days. And between those two days I probably spent about 14-15 hours on it. I hope this qualifies as OWL. I know experienced sewers could do it MUCH quicker but I had a re-read and Youtube all the way through the process. Lol. But I'm proud to say that I didn't have to use my seamripper once! I think it turned out ADORABLE.

Project: Family Portrait #2
Details:  After the popularity of my first family portrait spread on Facebook I was getting requests from multiple people to make one for them. For the first time I made money from something I made. Wowzers. It felt pretty important. For this SoAR class I crafted something for a family friend. A friend I have known since high school and now she has her very own cross stitch family portrait. Project: Even More December Daily Pages! 2014
Details:  Crafting entirely from my stash?! Now THAT's something I can do. Here we go! A couple December Daily pages from my stash entirely. And yes, this is my December Daily book from last year. I'm only 11 months behind, right?

These prompts I believe may be submitted out of order from my team. Another teammate will be posting previous challenge. Hope this is okay. Let me know if not...I just happened to have time to get these posted tonight.

Class: PS #8
Team: Knights of the Flaming Moonfish
House: Gryffindor
Project: Enchilada Pasta
Details: Enchiladas? Pasta? Pure silliness. But yes...it definitely works. Delish!
Picture:

Ingredients:
- 2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 small onin, diced
- 1.25 of ground turkey, prepared with taco seasoning
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 19 oz can red enchilada sauce
- 8 oz rotini pasta
- 2 cups shredded colby jack cheese
- green onion
- black olives

1. In large skillet or saute pan, saute garlic and onions in olive oil over medium low heat until softened.
2. Add ground turkey meat and cook, adding taco seasoning as packaged.
3. Once turkey meat is cooked through, add pasta, chicken broth and enchilada sauce to pan.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
5. Cook on low with pan covered for about 15 minutes.
6. Remove lid, let simmer for 5 additional minutes until pasta is tender and sauce has reduced.
7. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of cheese.
8. Top pasta with additional cup of cheese and melt under broiler for a minute or two, or place lid back on pan and let heat of the pasta melt the cheese.
9. Garnish with black olives and green onions.

Project: Cozy Christmas Village
Details: EAfter reflecting on my desires, I think my project works perfectly. I studied my dreams and what I found was that I was dreaming of a cozy, white Christmas. What better way then creating a whole little Christmas Village. I think I'm in love!

Haven't been posting many projects, mostly because all the things I'm working on at the moment are pretty big. And just 'cause I'm crazy, lemme do an OWL proposal!

~*OWL PROPOSAL*~
OWL Subject & Option: Study of Ancient Runes, Option 1-Use an intricate charted design
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Wee Little Pirate Costume
Brief Description: Some of you may remember the Dorothy costume I made for Luna last year. Truth be told, I haven't really sewed anything (with a sewing machine) since then. Lol. I can sew, but I don't do it much so when I do it's like learning it all over again. Sewing patterns may be easy for some but for me they are definitely intricate. Here's hoping I get it done by Halloween!
Sneak Peek: It's the costume in the middle...the older girl. Isn't it cute?!

@ErinAquaheart: So many finger puppets! You're like a machine, woman! Lol.
@gaudiknight: I love those dresses!! They turned out so good!

Hello all! I've been lurking lately - things have been nutso. I do have a project or two to turn in but I haven't photographed yet. In the meantime, just dropping by to turn in my very first NEWT proposal. Smiley

Subject: Charms NEWT Proposal
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: "Must Be Santa Advent Calendar"
Brief Description: For those of you in the FB group you may have seen my current obsession - those Bucilla felt kits. I couldn't decide on which stocking to make so I decided to make this advent calendar instead. It is the perfect Charms NEWT because I will demonstrate all my different crafty charms: embroidery, applique, sequins, beading, and following the world's most extensive directions. Lol.
Sneak peek of what finished project should look like:

Class: Arithmancy
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Mittens!
Brief Description: Okay, you may be thinking....how do these mittens qualify as arithmancy homework? Well...these mittens have more curves then you would imagine (the proper lines of the thumbs/hands) and it definitely made my head hurt. I was SO CLOSE to being done with these tonight. Actually...I was done! I have been working on them for days and was so excited to finally be done with them. In my haste to finish them I didn't try them on as I finished the last thumb and when I finally sewed in all the edges the thumb of one of them turned out super wonky. Seriously...it was the size of half of the palm. Ahh! My husband thought I was a little nuts, I started cracking up hysterically until I started actually crying. Well, half-laughing, half-crying. (Don't you just love PMS hormones?) So yes...I may be failing arithmancy, but at least I finished my homework. I even sucked it up and re-did the last part of my assignment. Lol.

Wooohoo! Between the excitement of the new term and this new creativity podcast I've been listening to, I am in crafting mode! Just spent Luna's naptime working on some Project Life. June isn't too far behind, is it? Hehe.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: June 8-19 Project Life
Brief Description: For Alchemy I chose to craft something that can alter someone's perception. These pages included the very stressful and sad time of my car dying and having to buy a new car. One thing I included was some journaling, a letter to my old car. The words included definitly can alter someone's perception that it was just a car. It wasn't just a car...it was my car. It was actually quite sad to scrap these pages. It's always funny scrappin hard things. Even if it's months and months ago it really brings you back as you work on the pages.
Project Picture:

And if you're interested, here's the text from my car letter, on the scrapbook pages it's the top right card:
Oh PT Cruiser...we've gone through a lot together. Who knew how much these past 12 years would mean to me? You and I grew up together: First dates, crazy nights with friends, going off to college, driving across the states and moving to California, driving home from my wedding, I even brought Luna home from the hospital in you. I planned on taking you back to Ohio with me next year but it looks like that won't be happening. I'm sorry you got sick. I'm sorry I overheated you one too many times. (We sure had a lot of cooling issues the past couple years...) I sure will miss you.

They no longer make PT Cruisers. You're the last of your kind. You're going to a place where you'll have lots of car friends. Nice people will come take your parts and you will live again. Little pieces of you will live on in another body. You're still going to go many places and see lots of things. Who knows, we might even meet again and not even know it. Farewell dear friend. You will drive on.

Last minute class assignments! All ear warmers! Hehe....I'm trying to save money this year so I've already starting making some small Christmas gifts with materials I already have. Expect to see more next semester! Lol.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
SPEW: n/a
House: Gryffindor
Project Name:  Button Ear Warmer #1
Project Page Link: n/a
Brief Description: One of the things the white swan represents is balance and the pattern for this ear warmer encompasses that perfectly. Warm and cool colors mixed together. The tapering toward the button on both sides. How it balances the cold winter with warm ears. Beautiful, right? Just like a swan?
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Care of Magical Creatures
SPEW: n/a
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: "Shell" stitch ear warmer
Project Page Link: n/a
Brief Description: Inspired by the merpeople I made an earwarmer patterned after their beautiful tails!
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology
SPEW: n/a
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Button Ear Warmer #2
Project Page Link: n/a
Brief Description: Ever go out into the bitter, bitter cold and it just makes you ANGRY? (Maybe's it's just me...I swear like a sailor when it's that cold outside.) Buuuut, you know what could help soothe me and calm me down? Nice, toasty ears. It helps. Only a little but it makes life bearable. Hehe

Time to turn in some homework!

Class: Apparation
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Take home “Doggy boxes”
Project Page Link (if available): Putting together these boxes definitely involved putting them together “just right.” I designed the printables myself and after much fiddling was able to print them to the exact size and carefully cut them out to the right sizes. Putting together the boxes took some careful deliberation and skill. Kind of tricky, but after the twelve one I'm happy to say that I think I passed Apparation!

Class: Arithmancy
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Paw Patrol Birthday Signage
Project Page Link (if available): Many individual pieces of letters helped put together these birthday signs for my daughter's Paw Patrol signs. Many pieces come together as one! Signs included: Puppy Adoptions Today, Make a Home, Puppy Parlor, Naming Center, Make a Collar. Each sign was for a section of “puppy adoption” for the party. Smiley
Project Picture:

Class: Astronomy
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Paw Patrol Party Food Labels/Food Bowls
Project Page Link (if available): Food the food bowls, I went to the 99cent store and bought some plain dog bowls and them dressed them up with some vinyl cut outs using my Silhouette. The food signs I made on the computer, printed them and glued them on colored cardstock. (A lot of the food names I stole off Pinterest but they were just so cute: Toilet Water, RUFF-age, Pups In a Blanket, Pup-corn, Puppy Chow, Dog food (Reese Puff cereal)...) Using the many colors of the Paw Patrol characters I was still able to blend them together to make a beautiful table layout for Luna's party.
Project Picture:

Class: Charms
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: German Chocolate German Shepard Cake! (It's Chase from Paw Patrol!)
Project Page Link (if available): All instructions were from this well organized Betty Crocker Tutorial. http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/german-shepherd-dog-cake/5f416911-9b3a-4901-a99a-f70166df6753
Brief Description:  Well, this project took the cake! (har har har!) After I ruined the first two cakes I made by cracking them while transferring them, it was time to try again. I baked two MORE cakes and was super, super careful. Once the cakes were frozen (refer to the link for explanation) things went a lot smoother. You freeze them before you cut them and it makes it way easier. Who knew? For someone who hates baking - this cake was certainly tough mentally but I absolutely love how this turned out! If you look at Betty Crocker, they even have other dog breeds as well! So neat...maybe one of you would be brave enough to make a three-headed Fluffy cake?
Project Picture:

Class: Divination
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Greeting Card Books
Project Page Link (if available): What to do with all those cards you never want to throw away?? One very motivated night I finally sat down and put together little books of cards. One for Luna, one for me, one for my husband, one for anniversary/wedding cards, one for each Christmas year. This project definitely worked on my aligning skills. Punching out and aligning all those holes? Goodness....a lot of practice and a lot of work. Glad they're finally organized though!
Project Picture:

Class: Potions
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Happy Birthday Sign
Project Page Link (if available): This sign was put together with glue twice – once to glue on the letters and not touch them, and another time to glue on the ribbon – and not touch it again. Smiley
Project Picture:

Class: Transfiguration
SPEW: N/A
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Paw Patrol Badge Sippy Cups
Project Page Link (if available): They may seem basic but there were THREE steps into putting these cute little Paw Patrol Badge cups together. Step one: Resize badges and print them out. Step two: Cover badges with clear packing tape. Step three: Put badges through the sticker maker and stick them on the cups!
