1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Twinkle's Big City Knits Book Knitalong on: May 15, 2007 01:19:35 PM
I have my last exam tomorrow and then all I have to do is finish the second sleeve on my BFC. I can't wait to get it done and start wearing it!

I'm knitting these too. I fnished my first sock and I'm about 2 inches into the second. This pattern takes me ages because I'm quite a slow knitter but when I finished the first sock it was so worth it! I can't wait to finish the second one

I need help! I've nearly finished my second sleeve for my BFC and I tried seaming my other finished one and attaching it and it just looked horrible. Has anyone got any tips? I've always been rubbish at seaming but the bulk of the yarn is making it look a million times worse!

I think that I had the same problem you are experiencing. Like Oatmeal, I frogged back to the armpits, knit the sleeves in the round and then grafted the live stitches from the sleeve onto the body. I did the sleeves from the top down (use a provisional CO) in case I didn't like the sleeve length, I could easily change it. I followed these instructions to graft the sleeves.

I am anxiously waiting on Mr. UPS. I ran out of yarn and had to order another skein from Yarnzilla. It should come today! I so want to finish my sweater. I have frogged a lot and am want to move onto another project.

That sounds like a good idea. I might frog me sleeves and do them again in the round. Thanks for the help.I ran out of yarn too at the last second but I just had to pop out to the shop to get another ball. Waiting for a delivery would drive me crazy!

The body of my BFC is done! I'm so happy and it knits up really quickly. I'm thinking of doing bracelet length sleeves instead of full length because I like wearing cardigans with the sleeves pushed up slightly. Do  you think it will look stupid? I guess I'll have to try it and see

I cast on my BFC last night and I've nearly finished the body. I can't wait to get it done but I have 5 exams this week so I'm taking a break from knitting to revise/panic

Seeing all the amazing things you guys have made from this book I just had to buy it. I'm in the middle of my uni exams at the moment but once those are out of the way I can't wait to get started.
Skwirel I love your shopping tunic and I'm so glad you used big wool. I live in London and the twinkle yarn isn't sold on this side of the pond so I was thinking of using that as a sub. After seeing how yours turned out I'm def gonna check it out.

I'm a long time lurker but I've been wanting to tackle socks for ages. I've decided to do the Pippi Kneestockings from SnB but in 2 colours not 4. I started on Monday night and finished the first one yesterday. I can't wait until the second one is done and I can stop wear one sock around the house and getting funny looks from family members.
