4  Cute green girl's dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by PRCLZ on: September 20, 2007 08:51:44 AM
So my cuz was having a quinceanera (sweet 15) and i made this for one of my little ones. I drafted the pattern on my own. It's made from green silk dupioni and black crepe de chine type material. She loved wearing it! Mind you in the pic it is not ironed yet that is why there is a line thru it. Oh and her awesome matching bracelet is none other than a shower curtain ring! LOL! The future craftster!!!!

10  Re: civil war type wedding gown in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by PRCLZ on: October 29, 2006 07:55:59 PM
Thank you everyone! Now to address some questions.
i made it from simplicity #5724
http://www.farthingales.on.ca/images/00-P5724-00.jpg

it took 15 yds of white, 2 yds of gold, and various yards of lace. i also made her veil but you really can't see it from this pic. it was also binded in gold. The back was lace up with gold. It is 2 separate pieces, corset like top and skirt. you can see just a bit of the back here.

sorry for the craptastic pic but i know you all get the idea. Smiley Wink
