Hey friends.
So yesterday I did something dumb and sewed over a pin and it got lodged in my bobbin case. I tested my sewing machine after getting it out, and the needle was hitting the bobbin hook, so I thought I threw the timing off. I tinkered around with the timing until I realized that I should have checked the needle first. Turns out the needle was bent. I tried to get the timing back to where it was, but I don't know if I got it exact. So I changed the needle, but my machine is still having issues.
I'm making a skirt out of cotton/poly twill. My machine keeps making irregular stitches (sews 3, skips 5, sews 1, skips some more) when I try to sew through 2 layers of it. I tried increasing the tension in my top thread but it didn't help. I tried stitching through a single layer of muslin and it stitches just fine. So there's something about thick fabric that my machine isn't liking right now. It worked perfectly before I sewed over the pin even at 5 tension.
Any ideas?
