Right when I saw this post I started to cut up a plastic bag  Smiley

Ha ha!!  That's so funny  Grin

I love the fabric you picked.  Do you have that sort of fabric lying around in your stash!?!!  WOW  Shocked  Fabulous!!!

How did you go turning it into the pouch?  I found that if I tried to turn it all at once it was really hard.  If I pushed one corner down on the pouch at a time to turn it was much easier.

I wish I had more of these kinds of fabrics lying around..I picked the pink stuff up when it was on clearance at a fabric store for 3 dollars a yard.
As for the pouch, I think that I used too thick of a fabric and could not actually get it to fit into the pocket  Undecided Maybe I need to try a larger pocket next time?

That's really lovely -  I'm jealous!

This may be a really silly question, but what kind of wire did you use to make it, if you don't mind me asking?

Rach xx

Not Silly  Smiley, I used a brand named "Beadalon" Its is bead stringing wire and is 0.38mm.

Do you simply use crimp beads to suspend the beads?

Yes, I just used crimping beads. It was the first time using them and I think I may have boughten bigger ones than I needed...I had trouble with some of the crimp beads breaking.

I originally bought a pink necklace like this one and decided I could just make one instead. Does this look professional enough to sell myself?

Thank You everyone for your great and useful opinions!!!!!!!

After some thought I decided to go to the fabric store and pick up some tulle for underneath the dress.

But then........I had a great idea about some fabric I stumbled upon.

So, I made ANOTHER prom dress. This one is alot more promish. After I got home today I started sewing and didn't stop until about 8 hours later!!

Here it is, I thought I was going to wear the one I had just made, But I just fell in love with the dress I made today Smiley

I used the same pattern as before and the lace around the waist just ties and is hanging down in the back Smiley

Once again thanks for all the good advice although I do Think I am going to wear this one instead Smiley

I need to stop being so indecisive!!

I made a dress on my day off from work and school Smiley

Here it is on the dress form

And......On me!

So, I have a few questions!!!

Do you thing it looks better with this black ribbon on it?
(This picture was taken before I hemmed the top.)

Also, I think I want to wear this to prom. I just don't know if it looks quite promish. I kind of wanted a more vintagy feel. What do you think??? I guess It would definitly not be like anyone elses dress.

* I used Mcalls #M5001 For the pattern*

Nice mixture of color.
I love the dandelion design on the original shirt. Where did you get it?

Thank you Smiley

I actually got the dandelion shirt at a local Ross. The brand is Split and it was about 10 bucks.
