all my extended family lives in illinois, and my family decided to be rogues and move out to arizona. the first christmas we were here, my mom traced our handprints and we got to glue all kinds of pasta all over them. (bowties, wheels, alphabets, you can find really fun shapes at the dollar store!) and after we were done, she spray painted them gold and wrote our names and the year on the back. it was really easy for us to do and they have become legendary in our family. i'm 17 now and all our family members still have theirs and we have a nice set that we hang on our tree every year. the gold makes the tree look really classy... norman rockwellish.
