gift cards: I use scraps of yarn and make little pouches. hey can be knit or crocheted in a few minutes and recipients tend to keep them <3

This is great! both in design and execution. I MUST make one of these for at home, I have a ton of antique bangles that are stuck in a bin because bangle racks are usually too small.

I love the effect!

Instead of soaking it, I would place the piece on a plate and spray it with water from a squirt bottle every time I walked by. let it dry in between because the exposure to air is what causes rust (oxidation), not the actual sitting in water.

O wonderful weaving! you've got me plotting: It would be neat to make a few more and then crochet around them to make a banner or cape!
