1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / 2005 Quilt Square Swap Finished quilt on: January 07, 2014 06:07:00 AM
Ok, so back in the fall of 2005 I was in a quilt square swap here on Craftster. I packed all the squares away in an envelope which got stuck at the bottom of one of my fabric bins and forgotten. Fast forward to last week and I finally unloaded all of my fabric and organized it on shelves and found the envelope with all the squares in it. I decided to sew it up and finish it yesterday! So here it is! The finished quilt from a swap 7-1/2 years ago!! Its a cute little throw, measures 40" by 50" and will probably wind up on my wall in my sewing area

2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / Can't figure out brand of embroidery threads I have. Help! on: May 10, 2013 11:24:53 AM
I got a brother PE770 from my boyfriend for this past Christmas and he decided to surprise me by getting a huge bag of assorted colors of embroidery thread off of eBay. Which I absolutely loved bc it had over 100 spools. Problem is there is no brand name on them, just the code for the colors, and I can not seem to find out what brand it is to find a color chart! I want to do a few patterns and keep the colors as close as possible so I went searching for a color conversion chart but I can not figure out this darn brand! All the numbers are in the 2000 range, nothing below 2000 or above 2999. Any ideas?? Or site I could go to to to try to figure it out? He did contact the seller but of course no response. All the spools are brand new sealed in plastic and have a sticker with the color code, polyester thread and 500m. Help!
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / 2 t-shirt quilts on: April 04, 2013 02:15:40 PM
A woman I know asked me to make her niece and nephew each a small tshirt quilt. Their father died suddenly a few months ago and she wanted them to have something to be able to snuggle up with and also remember him by. They picked out the fabrics and layouts and placement of the shirts. They actually cried when she gave the quilts to them at Easter

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby "Sprinkle" quilt on: April 04, 2013 02:07:33 PM
I made this for my friend's Baby "Sprinkle". She wasn't due until May 6th and her daughter decided to come 2 days after the sprinkle, 6 weeks early!! Thankfully her baby is doing well but can't go home from the Nicu for a few more weeks. I managed to completely make this in 1 day from start to finish. I wasn't planning on making her a quilt but was at the fabric store and found fabric that matched the crib set she had bought and whipped it up and finished it 2 hours before the sprinkle lol. She absolutely loved it and promised to take a picture of the new baby in her quilt once she is home

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Log Cabin Quilt king size on: December 26, 2012 09:04:49 AM
A friend of my boyfriends asked me to make a quilt for him and his fiance. The requirements: it had to be green and brown and king size. I could choose the pattern. Since they live out in the country I chose a log cabin pattern and then put the squares together to make a star burst pattern. This was my first king size quilt and quite possibly my last! I had to put two 6 ft folding tables up side by side to quilt it.  It measures 110 inches by 110 inches. I had to get my brother and 14 yr old son to stand on the couch to hold it up to get a full picture of it. I am really happy with how it turned out.

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Photo and Stars Quilted Wall Hanging on: December 19, 2012 09:49:09 AM
I made this for an online friend. She sent me all the fabric and pictures and chose the pattern and I just sewed it all together. Turned out measuring 35x35 inches. The star she found online and loved it. After a lot of research I found it was a pattern that was in a magazine from 1990 and was able to find the magazine on ebay. After a lot of trial and error, making my own templates and sewing, cursing and seam ripping I love the way they turned out.
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilted Halloween Wall Hanging on: November 14, 2012 08:45:13 AM
I've been wanting to make this for years after seeing it in a magazine and finally did this year! I wound up finishing it on Halloween. I love how it turned out! It measures around 35x25.

8  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Need to make Grinch Feet...Help!! on: November 14, 2012 06:30:11 AM

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Tinkerbell Star Quilt on: March 26, 2009 09:03:07 AM
I made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday, which is April 1st. I was so happy to have it done 3 weeks before her birthday lol! Usually I wind up finishing them weeks or months later (bad mommy..tsk..tsk..)

Each star is a different Tinkerbell fabric. There are 22 different Tinkerbell fabrics in the quilt. I have been collecting them since she was born! Her bedroom is all Tinkerbell. I quilted around each star, then did meandering all over and knotwork on the border.
