11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Painted teapot and teacups on: March 01, 2014 08:32:41 PM
mushroom themed teapot and teacups I painted using Sharpie paint pens and Marth Stewart acrylics for ceramics.

12  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / polymer clay food on: March 01, 2014 08:29:50 PM
I haven't played with polymer clay too much but miniature food fascinates me.
I made some breads, croissants, donuts, and macaroons. My proportions are a bit off but it was fun.

13  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Coffee-Tea Wall art on: January 19, 2014 09:46:02 AM
I made this for a friend's birthday

It's a 9"14" canvas

I had made this for the Tea Swap and she really liked it so I made the above version for her.
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 4"x6" Art Swap or Wall Art Swap on: January 02, 2014 09:52:47 AM
Is there any interest in resuming the 4"x6" art swaps?  I participated in a few in 2012 but haven't seen any posted in a long time.
Here's a link to the last gallery:

Or perhaps a wall art swap?  This one was a lot of fun:
15  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Steampunk Pear Bird on: October 15, 2013 07:40:10 PM
I wasn't sure if this little guy belonged here or the misc board.
I made him for the assemblage  art swap.   It's my first attempt at 3-D assemblage art.
except for the decorative gears he is made of thrift store finds.  His body is a fake pear,  his wings and feet and tail are made from old utensils. The  nest is a wreath form that I glued a bunch of nails on. Some of the  nails I bent.  If I had a vise I could have bent more nails but I was just using pliers and  my own hand  strength so I was limited.

16  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / River Song's Journal / Shrine on: August 28, 2013 09:16:11 AM
I made this for myself.  I took a plain wooden box that was shaped like a book and made it look like River Song's journal. and when you open it up, it is a Doctor Who shrine.

I painted the exploding Tardis background but the Tardis itself is a 3-D cutout.
17  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Wall Art - Butterfly explosion on: June 10, 2013 11:52:01 AM
I made this yesterday on the spur of the moment.  It was fun to make and not hard at all.
I just dotted various colors (mostly browns and reds) of acrylic on canvas and blended them in and then mod podged on butterflies cut out of cardstock.
The canvas is 18" x 24".

18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Wall Art from canvas, paint and scraps of paper on: March 04, 2013 09:44:58 AM
In the recent coffee swap my partner had linked to this wall art on pinterest.

I really liked the looks of it and I made a version of it for my partner including coffee beans in the final product since it was a coffee swap Smiley

I liked it so much and had so much fun making it I made another version for myself.

The canvases for both projects were 11"x14" (I think).

I put this in the paper gallery even though there was painting involved as I think it is more about the paper than the paint.
Also, if I ever do this again I will not do as the instructions say regarding glue.  The link says just use a dot of elmer's glue in the middle of each leaf and then modge podge over everything.  I think it would be better to brush glue over the whole backside of the leaf or to use double sided tape runners.
19  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My first commissioned drawing on: December 21, 2012 10:30:42 AM
A friend commissioned me to do one of my abstract line drawings of his girlfriends dog.  The dog is a shih-poo It is a cross between a Poodle and a Shih Tzu.

It's 11"x14"
