We are going to London, Cardiff, and Edinburgh. There are 10 people going, 4 are college friends, and 4 are local friends, including 2 local crafters (one is in this swap, too!). It's going to be a blast I hope Cheesy Maybe I'll find some crafty bits that I can incorporate into puzzles if I get internet access while we are there to check in with questionnaires/themes Grin

That's me  Grin

I forgot to post a message when I sent in my questionnaire and I got my puzzle last night.  Excited to get started in this swap.

That Apoxie Scuplt sounds just like what I need.  Can it be found at Michaels or AC Moore or do you have to buy it online? I don't mind buying online but I'd like to pick some up tomorrow if it can usually be found in stores.

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Painted teapot and teacups on: March 03, 2014 12:07:18 PM
Thanks everyone,
I used oil based sharpie paint pens.

Pretty sure the price just went up because I don't remember spending $32 on my set. But I really like them.  They just flow very nice.  You can use normal sharpies but I'd only recommend them for writing, outlining, or small areas. for larger areas I think you'd see stroke marks where as with the paint pens, there's less of that going on. and the paint pens have a more of a gloss finish.

Both the sharpie paint pens and the martha stewart paints hold up well to handwashing. I have a mug I painted around July with the Martha Stewart pens and I use it a lot and handwash it and it looks as good as new.  I have not tried dishwashing either. although I know someone who put a glass in the dish washer that was painted with the Martha Stewart paints and it didn't go so well.  I suppose I should do a test on the sharpie paint pens.

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / polymer clay food on: March 01, 2014 08:29:50 PM
I haven't played with polymer clay too much but miniature food fascinates me.
I made some breads, croissants, donuts, and macaroons. My proportions are a bit off but it was fun.

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Keep Me Warm Round 3 Gallery on: March 01, 2014 11:09:33 AM
I got may package from Kayrun.  It came several days ago to my apartment office but I was only able to pick it up yesterday.

Kayrun knitted me some awesome fingerless gloves.  I love them.  They will be just the thing to keep my hands warm in my very very cold office.

a crocheted mug rug/coaster and a knitted dishcloth.  It might be hard to see the texture in the pic.  It's very well done.
And a package of gears.  I use gears a lot in my mixed media.  These will definitely come in handy!

And some locally roasted coffee and hot chocolate.  I'm eager to try them.

Thanks! I love my package.
