soooo i'm an english major and i kind of want to dress as a writer... but i don't know who! any suggestions? i really want it to be specific; someone with a particular look or a interesting way they died. i'd like it if it was kind of pretty, but it's not that necessary, and i definitely don't want sexy/slutty (not my style). also, i have access to lots of vintage clothes at my work. help me out guys!!!

if you're looking for something a bit hipper, try hitting up salem more often, especially the FANTASTIC feed your head books. they're a zine/independent bookstore that also sells some crafty stuff [books, embroidery patterns, kits, handspun yarn, etc]. they've also started having events there, like open mikes, basement punk shows, and readings from local authors. i <3 feed your head!!! seriously, my most favorite place on the north shore.

CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / theme parties?

[i really hope this hasn't been mentioned before, i searched for it just to be sure!]
i LOVE theme parties. the weirder the theme the better. so what if we had a challenge for the best theme party? submissions would be judged on originality of the theme itself and execution of decorations, costumes, food, whatever! can you imagine a more fun challenge to participate in?
this challenge may not be for now [with so many holiday obligations], but it would be great in, say, january or march... two of the most boring months, as far as i'm concerned!

PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: iBook / Backpack / Boombox / Rabbit - Now with Pic-Heavy Tutorial

ok- first and foremost, really impressive tutorial. the very idea of rigging up a gutted-out boombox so you can play music from your laptop through the speakers is REALLY intimidating, but your tutorial makes it seem so doable. so doable, in fact, that i want to do it. my only concern is the amplifier. where, besides online, could i find the multibox? what type of store would sell them? or, where could i locate a similar amplifier? i'm dying to give this a shot. thanks for being a total genius. <3

this has totally inspired me to have a whole monster-themed party with my theme-party-crazy friends. we'll all have to dress like monsters. i, of course, will bring the house down if i can fashion myself a pair of these beauties. really spectacular work!

any nice hotels in the area? maybe you could get a hotel suite for a night, take the limo to the hotel, get all dolled up in your room, then go out to dinner at the hotel's restaurant. after dinner you could go swimming or get a spa treatment or whatever else the hotel has to offer.
