I made a big stupid while making my sister a purse the other day ..

I got done sewing the lining together and then put it on my head like a goofy pink hat while I finished up the other parts.  Then it was time to put it all together and I couldn't find the lining.

My sister walked in to check on the progress on the purse, proclaimed me a doofus and walked out.

Oh, and I jammed a pin under the same thumbnail like three times.

Oh, how pretty - with or without a horn!   Smiley  I think it would make an adorable lined bag.  Did you draw it?

I have enough fabric for another similarly-sized project .. I don't know what to do though.  I was thinking a little monster plushie thing, but I'd have to find another coordinating color of fabric.  Mrah.

So the Jo-Ann's in my hometown had a corduroy sale.  I'm in love with corduroy.  And this insanely stripey stuff just jumped out at me.  Later, I found a soft purple remnant that would make a decent lining .. and here it is.

Unfortunate thing .. a little error in planning out my pattern led me to make the little flaps on top that attach to the zipper .. well .. inadequate  Embarrassed  So there's a ton of the white zipper exposed, because if I sewed it so the zipper was covered, the bag kinda puckered at the top.  Oh, and I can't sew a straight line for the life of me *sigh*  Perhaps this should have gone in "Stitch and Botch".

The blue flowers rock my freaking socks.  Gorgeous fabric, gorgeous bags.

Erk.  I jabbed a pair of little needle-nosed pliers into my thumb the other day, working on chainmail necklaces with my fianc.  Gauged a pretty piece of skin and stuff out of the side of my thumb .. and it would not stop bleeding.  And now I keep catching/scraping it on stuff  >_<

And he's so sympathetic .. like, he just shook his head at me and sighed, and said, "I haven't got any band-aids."
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Hmm .. cheap, interesting dorm project? on: January 30, 2006 09:51:53 PM
So I just got initiated into a sorority .. the music one  Smiley  and my pledge year is required to put on a fund-raiser.  If we lack any creative ideas, we will do the traditional sell-roses-at-performances thing.  However, I refuse to be accused of lacking creativity  Grin  Besides, the proceeds go to help pay our dues!  Hehehe ..

One of the motifs of the group is roses, so I was thinking of duct-tape roses, maybe around V-day.  But I'm certainly looking for other cheap, useful ideas.

Anyone?
