132  Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by jMi on: August 26, 2005 11:50:01 AM
Oh, good topic! Don't know how I missed it. I have 4 tattoos so far... started on my 18th birthday (would have before - with mom's permission, of course - but no one would tattoo me) and have been addicted since!

I think I only have a picture of one online, so I'll post it for now and come back later if I find the rest. Smiley

This is my "In memory of Dad" tattoo-- got it for my Daddy, who died when I was 11. Its only a few hours old in the picture. Got it Feb 2005.

(Don't mind the tags, that's my LJ username)

Mojo, those linens are pretty cool- I wouldn't mind having a throw pillow

Alright, here we go Smiley Sorry for the shoddy pictures, my camera wasn't cooperating with me tonight.

A box, which completely illustrates the lyric "take these chances, place them in a box until a quieter time..", so cute! I didn't take a pic of the inside but there's a velvet color with sparkly stars Smiley

This is the bracelet Smiley It has a lot of little ants, all going in one direction and one special ant going another way Smiley UBER creative!

I love them both so much Smiley Smiley Smiley

134  Magnetic Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: June 24, 2005 01:01:48 PM
Most of you have probably seen these all over the craft fair scene! I saw them at the last few I've been to, and last week my mom begged me to try to make them too. So, by dumb luck I happened upon the right beads and out came the following bracelet! Smiley I'm pretty impressed with it-- and it's ridiculously amusing Wink

For those who don't know what these are, it's basically a really long strand of beads but every few beads there's a magnetic one. You can wrap them around your wrist, neck, anywhere really. They're so fun to play with too Smiley

Picture of the pattern I did

My sister Erin modeling it for me

Let me know what you think! Smiley

136  Yard sale find = cute bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: May 15, 2005 09:03:58 AM
We went to a yard sale yesterday and I found a baggie full of a quilting project someone abandoned. The lady hand stitched 4 12x12in squares, and then gave up on them and never finished the project.. and I loved the materials she used and the quilting she did so I bought the bag (for 25 cents!), came home and made it into a purse!

Psst-- another awesome deal I got: A box of over 35 bias binding tape for 50 cents! Cheesy

Inside view, with all my crap

*I take no credit for the pretty quilting!*

Iron on transfer was drawn by me in PSP.. there is a yellow halo over his head but you can't see it in the picture.

138  2 new purses::.. Napoleon Dynamite & Denim in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: May 04, 2005 05:03:37 PM
Made two new purses! New style for me.. kind of like a messanger bag/purse thing. No pattern used.. no tutorials this time either! Smiley

I made this Napoleon Dynamite one for my boss. She asked me to make it for her to give her sister when she comes home from college this weekend. It's just a simple bag, canvas material used with a white cotton lining. The picture on it is one I got from the internet.. I edited it a bit (my graphic art skills came in handy here!) and printed it on transfer paper then put it on the bag. You can't see in the picture, but on the back side it says "GOSH!" on the bottom righthand corner. Sorry the picture kind of sucks

This one I did last night.. stayed up til 12:30am to finish it too! Its kind of an irridescent denim (black) material. The lining is red with white polka dots. I got the flower for less than $1 and added a safety pin to the back of it so it would be removable. No pockets inside, but the front piece (the red and below) is a pocket.

I think I'm improving! Smiley

139  25 cent fabric + a free hour = FUN! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: May 01, 2005 09:23:53 AM
I got this cute kiddy fabric for 25 cents! There was less than a yard, so I had to be creative for it to work.
Cute fabric though, huh? I'm thinking of adding a felt cloud decoration to spice it up some. Smiley

140  3 purses/bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: April 30, 2005 10:47:23 PM
This is the first purse I tried to make. It's a Jordy, as can be expected. I found the tutorial so easy to follow and great for a beginner TUT here --> http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0  Smiley I also used one of the zipper tutorials that is on here.. another awesome one that I am VERY grateful for! TUT here --> http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10066.0
Must also note that I made this one two days ago (three maybe?), noticed some crappy stitching so today I took it apart and fixed the stitching and put it back together.

This is the second one I made. Same Jordy tutorial used (from memory this time lol), slightly larger, also wanted to try out the flap tutorial (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16538.0). Used the same fabrics as the first one but versed them, as per suggestion from my momma Smiley

Just a funky purse. It's not very deep, but quite wide. No tutorials or patterns used (except zipper one again). I did this one this morning, and I'm proud of myself for figuring out how to get the ribbon in the right way lol

Be gentle, I'm a newb to the sewing world! Smiley
