Hey!! Sorry so late posting my box of awesomeness from 2711! Smiley

Here is everything in the package (minus the candy)

All the paper materials (a local magazine, a takeout menu, 4 postcards, an advertising booklet from a store there called Asda):

Mmm the edibles!:

A new take on the Union Jack! I love this- such a cute idea!

12  Pink and brown baby quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by jMi on: August 29, 2008 04:29:50 AM
Smiley I made this quilt for my new baby cousin, Sophie... they live in California, so I didn't want it to be heavy so it's just the quilted front and a baby flannel back, quilted together.

I used variations of pink and brown, and kept the theme kind of cute but modern and not too babyish. I cut an "S" out of my favorite of all the materials and stitched it on Smiley

I love making baby quilts! Smiley

Laid out on the floor:

Trying to get a close up on the stitching:

The "S":

All wrapped up and ready to travel!:

Opinions appreciated! Smiley

13  My first lasagna... I am no longer a shame of my Italian family! in Recipes and Cooking Tips by jMi on: August 25, 2008 06:40:56 PM
Wink Sooo I come from an Italian family, and the fact that I buy pasta sauce is blasphemy to my mother... so I surprised us all and made a lasagna from scratch! Not only did I make that, I made my own SAUCE. It was a very proud day in the jMi household. Smiley

I would change some things next time, but overall I am pleased!

Forgot to take a pic after I cut it Sad

14  4th of July yummies... okay, so it's a little late ;) in Dessert by jMi on: August 25, 2008 06:38:19 PM
My mom had a big party for the 4th and I offered to bring some dessert for it. It was my 2nd try with dying the icing and I am very happy with the results Smiley
Something I'll definitely do again!

The cupcakes in all their glory

Action shots!

I also made a cute cake! I used the angel food pan for it and tried to color the inside so it'd be a little surprise
It was hot that day, and some of the decorations on top got melty

And the inside Smiley

15  Fitted sheet for toddler bed in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: May 11, 2008 11:56:33 AM
I used this tutorial (http://everythingyourmamamade.com/2008/02/06/crib-toddler-bed-sheet-tutorial/) to make a fitted sheet for my step son's toddler bed. That tutorial is AWESOME. So easy to follow and I had great results! I honestly had no intention of posting the sheet but when I put it on the bed I got so excited at how nice it looked. So of course I snapped a few pictures Wink

I made this sheet from our old sheet- so it went from Queen to Toddler in about 5 minutes! Cheesy

16  Blue starry quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by jMi on: May 11, 2008 11:53:25 AM
My step son has recently advanced to a big boy bed and he's coming to stay with us for awhile soon-- we already had a bed for him but hadn't actually gotten out to buy a comforter or anything. So I decided I wanted to make him a quilt instead. Smiley

I had a tough time picking materials because him and I "share" a room (its my craft room when he's not here), so I wanted to stay away from "baby" themes or cartoons. I'm not a fan of blue, but I compromised on that since my husband would have killed me if I made his son's bed pink Cheesy

So I bought some fat quarters in variations of blue. One of them has stars in a lighter blue, and I found a matching white fabric (white fab w/ white stars). The entire quilt was made from 5 fat quarters and the backing/binding is a fabric I already had. So total this project was $5! Cheesy

I really like it but my hubby thinks I should have made it larger. I probably should have but I was trying to use my materials wisely lol

Pictures!

These are the 2 star fabrics:

19  Mini Pocket Book in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: April 14, 2008 09:51:20 AM
Kategirl had one of these in her Wists, so I set about trying to recreate it for her for Christmas. It's no longer on her Wists, so I'm not sure where it came from (let me know, if you remember!).

I think I succeeded in making it though, I was definitely happy with it!

20  MP3 player cozy for Kategirl ;) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by jMi on: April 14, 2008 09:47:19 AM
This was another present for Kategirl for Christmas (yes, I'm so late posting these out here lol)
Luckily for me, we have the same MP3 player so I was able to measure mine for hers. I used really brightly colored fabric for this and gave it a front pocket for things like ear buds or cash - whatever she would need it for Smiley
