1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Easy Glass Coasters on: September 21, 2005 08:07:03 AM
I love this idea so much I'm making a bunch of these as baby shower favors for this weekend.

I got the glass and had it cut at Hobby Lobby in the framing department. It cost me about 55 pennies per four-inch square.

I had a problem with the Mod Podge for some reason: I designed my images on my computer and printed them from my home printer, and when I tried to apply them, the color ran and smeared. I used adhesive spray instead, but now I'm going to have to pick up some cork or felt to seal the bottom.

Any ideas why the color ran or how to prevent it?

Love it! Some tea bags are so pretty, and that's an awesome way to display and store them!

I always think it's cool to have to guests paticipate in "making" something for the guest of honor. It could be as simple as putting out a blank journal or big piece of posterboard and letting them write messages, draw pictures, compose poems, etc. Sometimes you'll be surprised by how creative, thoughtful, funny or drunk your friends are.

Or you can get a bunch of disposible cameras or a polaroid of some sort and let people snap pictures at will. If you use polaroids, you can provide a photo album, glue, pens and maybe some stickers and guests can add them to the album. If you use disposible cameras, you can either give them all to the birthday girl or boy to develop or do it yourself and put together an album for them later. Whatever you use, it gets people mingling and talking, and you get some really hilarious pictures to remember the party by.
