17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / 9yr old girl Birthday Gifts on: July 05, 2005 04:44:15 PM
My neighbor is turning nine, and she and my son play together endlessly. I want to get her something special for her birthday. Her mom helps us out a lot too, so thats more of a reason.
She is very much into crafting, whenever she comes over, she is like "you make such cool stuff, I wish I could do that", so I want to get her some of this stuff she wishes she could do. What I need help with is what to get. She likes knitting/crocheting (i cant spell), so I was thinking of some cool yarn. But thats where I stopped. Any ideas?

19  California / California: Central / Santa Cruz Crafters---- on: June 20, 2005 10:07:34 AM
I am looking for any Santa Cruz area crafters that would be interested in setting up tables at the Flea Market to sell our crafty goods.  I will be flyering for this, so it will be sort of like an event.  I know its hard to get out there and sell stuff, and only having organized events every so often is hard too.  So let me know if anyone is interested!!!!

Cheers!

20  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Help! Im being moved into the garage! on: June 17, 2005 02:57:33 PM
Well, not if I can help it. My mom is moving back in with us, and as a side effect, is redecorating the house. Her taste is very expensive, do no touch kinda stuff, and ours, well, its FUNCTIONAL. We have a 5 year old, so it has to be.  Her idea is to move all of our furniture into the garage and make that our living room, while she gets the real living room (which she will NEVER use, its just for looks, so that STINKS). Our idea, to make this as hassel free as possible, is to move our bed into my sons room, put his in the closet (but take the sliding doors off) and move our living room into our bedroom.
What I am posting this about, is that I need clever ideas to make a master bed room look and feel more like a living room. There is a walk in closet and a bathroom (with a sliding door) connected to this room also. We have 2 ikea couches, heres what they look like:
Do you think shelves on the walls would be too tacky?
And yes...this is not fun. thanks!!!
