21  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Even More Monkey Love on: June 27, 2005 08:39:57 AM

22  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Yarn & needle recommendations on: May 28, 2005 07:20:13 AM
Just trying to get some recommendations for good yarn/needle combos for beginners.  I'm still learning and have been using an 8/H hook.  I'm not sure what type of yarn I'm  using because it's from the local thrift store.  Anyway, I'm running in to a problem. I make the chain stitch, work into that with the first row of single stitch and then the stitches seem so tight its almost impossible to work into the second row. (Hope I'm explaing this clearly I'm still shaky on all of the terminology.  I'm wondering if my needle is too big, my yarn's too small or I'm just doing something wrong.  Any words of advice would be appreciated!

23  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Displaying Embroidery on: May 01, 2005 06:28:35 AM
So, If you just have an embroidered piece not attached to anything how do you display it? In a wooden hoop? In a frame?  I have this awesome vintage embroidery piece, it's too thin to just hang by itself, so I am kind of trying to figure out how to display it.. Any tips or advice would be great!!

Thanks
