1  What Could Possibly Protect an Elixir, Better than a Dragon? in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by kilpi on: May 19, 2012 07:48:12 PM
Hey all!

It's been a while since I've posted my last (and first) polymer clay creations, but I've been busy improving my polymer clay skills. I've been hooked up with fantasy and steampunk lately and I want to share my latest polymer clay dragons with you Smiley

I've ordered some of these lovely vials from ebay and first thing that came into my mind was to fill them with "elixirs" and make their protectors: dragons!

This red one is the first vial dragon I've made. I'm really happy about how it turned out. The second one was cute, but not as good as the first one though:

Then I've made these russet and green dragons, they are my favorites so far:

And I've made this one recently as a custom order: a turquoise and ice blue water dragon:

And finally, my first dragon miniature try:

I didn't want to upload all the photos of these dragons, but you can see more pictures here (the post is in Turkish but you can check the pictures out Wink : http://www.kilpidesign.com/2012/05/ejderhalar-ve-iksir-siseleri_17.html

Thanks for stopping by, any comments and advices are more than welcome! Smiley

2  My Kinda first Polmer Clay Works in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by kilpi on: March 07, 2012 06:08:05 AM
Hey everyone!

I've been following the forum for a while then I though I must share my own works with you guys, too Smiley

I discovered polymer clay last summer but I could only play with it for like a month and then I had to put all my clay in a dark corner of my closet due to school and some personal stuff going on. Then after semester is finished, I took 'em out and tried to make it up to them for neglecting them for so long. So these are some of the stuff I made out of polymer clay during the summer and winter break (total 2 months I guess). Any comments and advices are more than welcome! Smiley

The first thing I made was this blue octopus tealight holder. It was hard, and I made so many mistakes (I can still see some aluminium foil left uncovered) but I like how it looks, especially when I turn the lights off and light the candle, it looks really spooky Smiley

And later, this tealight holder came, as I love anime, especially Miyazaki's work. It took like forever, but here is my Spirited Away tealight holder, with Haku, Chihiro, transformed baby and bird:

And these are my little Susuwatari earrings:

I also made some weirdo rabbits and owls:

And hedgehogs, as they are one of my favorites:

I have experimented with different textures and acrylics with those above. And this one is an anarchist!

I also experimented with baked clay, silicone, acrylics and small metal studs and made these dangerous rings for myself. They are very strong and didn't turned out so bad but it will be really great if I can find a way to dye silicone or find colored ones. Because I mess it up once I take a brush and some paint at hand Smiley

For more stuff and pictures, please check my blog: http://kilpidesign.blogspot.com/
(My blog is in Turkish for now, but there aren't many descriptions, as pictures already speak for themselves. I will add more English posts as I improve myself and post tutorials and so on, though. But for now I am merely trying to sell the stuff I made on my blog, so I can buy more clay and do more stuff Smiley )

P.S. Sorry for any grammar mistakes I've possibly done. I have checked twice, but well, you never know Smiley
