I finished my shoes!  I popped out the middle tacks before the glue set.  I tightened the elastic and then popped off one on the ends and pulled out the extra. I used Stretchrite Round Cord Elastic.  That was the only one my Joann's had.  Here are pictures.

That is the second ribbon i had to buy because i forgot to get double faced satin so it wouldn't look funky.  Now all I have to do is use some goo gone where the shoe tag was and it will be done.

For my one year old's first costume I did Link from Legend of Zelda.  Specifically Wind Waker Link.  Here are the pictures.

The pants and long sleeved shirt were from Zutano.  I made the hat, tunic, and all accessories.  The socks were from the Gap.  The socks were a size larger and slid over his soft shoes.

The triforce has a sound recorder in the green triangle part that I recorded the zelda theme. When you squeezed the triforce the theme would play!

I'm very happy with the results and I think he is very cute as Link.
