1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Help with gluing delicate earrings? on: June 16, 2012 01:05:10 PM

I just made a few adorable earring sets, like these little cherries. I used the pictured glue to attach them to the earring posts, which worked well enough, but when I went to put on and take off the earring backs the cherries came off because the stupid backs were too tight and hard to pull off.

What is the best glue for attaching these kinds of things? The cherries are really small and easy to break. I know E6000 is popular but I couldn't find any when I bought this glue, and I've used it on lots of other things and it worked fine, but nothing this small.

Also, is there any way I can loosen these earring backs? I bought them on etsy and I didn't know they'd be so hard to take off, my fingers are sore just from trying. :/ I'll probably end up just buying those plastic backs.

Thanks for any help!
2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Delurkin'! on: June 12, 2012 12:12:04 PM
Hey there, my name's Kat! I'm 25 and I live in West Palm Beach. Right now I'm into so many types of crafting, it's almost too much! I'm trying to teach myself to sew with pretty good results! Except when my sewing machine decides to spit out the thread every two seconds!  Angry Um, I'm into stenciling, polymer clay, making jewelry, I love refashioning my clothes and Goodwill is just about the best place in the world!  Wink I'm a big tv nerd, so a lot of my crafts involve my favorite shows or characters. (Doctor Who is a big one!)

This site is amazing and also horrible because I've added even more pages to my crafting bookmarks folder, which is overflowing and overwhelming!

And I have a crafting blog, http://eightysevenfiftyfive.wordpress.com, which is in desperate need of updating, but you can check it out if you like!

Anyway, just saying hi! Smiley
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Selling crafts for a little extra money when on Social Security Disability on: June 12, 2012 12:04:24 PM
I had this exact question! I'm waiting for my hearing for Social Security Income, I'll probably get it sometime this year. I think with SSI you can only make like $65 a month? Which I doubt I'd get selling my stuff, but I'm still paranoid!
