hey all! just got back. im in some stellar low-level pain, and once in a while when i move it hurts. i can see the blood through the bandages. yuck. im feeling really low energy so we're going to sit back and watch some of inked, sex and the city, america's next top model (i heart kim!), and eat our hearts out! starpiste is a trooper! xoxo di-.

25  arlo t-shirt stencil in Stenciling: Completed Projects by ohsweetie on: June 22, 2005 10:29:18 PM
ga. my friend randall just got me into arlo and im addicted to their song shutterbug. and what do you know? its his birthday coming up, so last night i whipped up this t-shirt for him. when i give it to him next week i'll get some action shots and then post them on artificia. (so emo i am!)

this is on the upper front left breast (when worn)

this is the lyric. stencilled on the bottom right hand back (when worn)

i free-handed the camera (based on a picture from wikipedia) and printed out the words from the computer. i then glued about four pieces of paper together behind the image, waited till dry and then knifed out the "negative" parts. um. as for paint i used simple acrylic paint from an art shop. no fabric medium. it works wonders! can go in the dryer no problem and doesnt bleed what so ever (though it does crack). xoxo di.

28  Re: thousand hearts t-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohsweetie on: May 01, 2005 01:09:30 AM
i have no idea what you lovelies mean by greyscale... the pictures my phone takes are pretty bad, but they turn out so cool! anyway, the shirt is just plain black, and the hearts are actually two shades of green. but they never turn out green in pictures. hm? magic hearts?
okay, gen. 3 for another friend.

29  thousand hearts t-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohsweetie on: April 30, 2005 01:50:52 AM
well, maybe not a thousand hearts, but... right now i'm in japan and nothing fits above a size 4-6 for women! so, over winter break i headed to the japanese version of a dollar store and bought a men's t-shirt, 100yen, and some felt pieces, 100yen. and voila. thousand hearts t-shirt.

i did a second generation for a friend, and you can see a picture of it and a mini-tutorial at
http://artificia.blogspot.com/2005/04/thousand-hearts-generation-2.html
and more pictures here.
