1  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R8 FOCR R8 Secret Garden Gallery in The Swap Gallery by boarderchic on: April 16, 2010 01:25:35 AM
Alright, here are pictures!  I'll be perfectly honest, the Highland fudge didn't make it into the shot because my fiance has a huge sweet tooth and we went through half the bag.  So so yummy.

The bag itself:

I love the color.  I thought it blended well with our green couches.  Pink is my fav color and I LOVE pink and green together.  I totally had a list of the top things I wanted in this swap and this was one of them.  I love totes, they are so easy to throw stuff in and head out the door and I didn't have one this size (some of the bigger totes are overkill, I'm sure I'll use this constantly!)
The bag, headband and extra goodies:

I know BoyceMachine was trying to find rediculous stuff from Scotland, but I love it.  It's all super cute!

PS, my pup loves it too.

2  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R8 FOCR R8 (Signups CLOSED Sendout 4/10) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by boarderchic on: March 18, 2010 12:42:14 AM
Just approved.  I made sure I finished my item before joining since I procrastinate so badly!  I made another one for myself to use as a gardening apron, but it's pretty versitile.

I got my stuff from SowingDiva this morning.  So excited.  She really found the colors and fabrics I like, because I think I've used these exact prints in quilts before, LOL.  The whole lot:

Iocaine Powder (Tabacco Flower scented baby powder, and it smells GOOOD) and Miracle Max Pills.  I love the packaging and the ingredient list made me laugh.  Grin

And she also sent me the book with 3 bookmarks that have PB quotes on the back.  Yay!

This was a fun swap.  Thanks so much!

4  30's kids quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: November 18, 2009 10:02:51 PM
I made this in a second Saturday sampler class at the LQS.  I used 30's replica print fabric with animals/people/figures on them.  It was my first time stippling, which I did in all the white areas.  I think this is my fav piece of work so far.  Onto the pics!

The back shows the machine quilting best, sorry for the horrible lighting but I couldn't pick up the detail otherwise.

C&C Welcome, thanks for looking!

5  Boxer Short Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: November 18, 2009 06:41:42 PM
So, this is an old project, but I never posted it here  Huh .  It's a modified nine patch pattern and I made it for my fiance a year ago.  He still sleeps with it every night.  I don't have a great picture of the full quilt, but you get the idea.  It's called the boxer short quilt because of the fabrics.  I wanted it to be a "man quilt" and it kind of ended up looking like a bunch of boxers pieced together.

6  Re: Blues Quilt - Update, I finished the quilting (bottom of pg 1) in Quilting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: November 18, 2009 06:21:16 AM
Well, this thing kind of stood at a standstill for 3 months with no binding, but I finally finished it (and a bunch of other WIPs... look for more posts  Tongue).  I added swirls to the borders and stuck with just ditchwork everywhere else.  The swirls are freehand, I just stuck it in the machine and started sewing.
Full quilt with binding:

Thanks for all your input.  C&C Welcome.

7  Blues Quilt - Update, I finished the quilting (bottom of pg 1) in Quilting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: July 05, 2009 04:45:29 PM
This is a twin sized quilt made during a once monthly sampler class.  I finished all the ditchwork on my machine, but I'm really stuck on what design to quilt.  I was thinking about something fun, like an ocean or night sky motif, since the colors are so bright.  I'd love any input!  Thanks!

8  Cabled Legwarmers in Knitting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: April 27, 2008 04:18:51 AM
I based these loosely on Knitty's Mosey, but with 4x2 rib and I changed up the cable pattern a bunch.  I also decided just to do a cable panel on the front.  These photos are the product of my phone, plus they were taken with the intention of being artsy and weird (now that I'm a photographer I can't do anything normal, lol).  Thanks for looking.  I would love comments.  I'll try to get pics up later that do these things justice.

9  Give your team some love! in Knitting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: August 16, 2006 02:00:56 AM
They just might take the lead in the AL West, like my Oakland A's have.  I knitted these wristwarmers up using some girlier versions of team colors.  Number 33 if for first baseman, left fielder, home run hitter, sweet as pie, 25 year old brunette, country boy, hottie... Nick Swisher.  I'm too old for crushes, but I have such a crush on him... without further ado...

10  Re: Knit Star Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by boarderchic on: August 16, 2006 01:58:45 AM
Here's my one little star I've finished so far.  It's a lonely star, but I am super busy with school... so it might have to wait til fall to get some friends.  But I am in love with the variegated and pink mix.
