I finished the back!

I just realized after looking at the picture that I messed up the very beginning--I saw the [p1, k1 row] part and assumed that meant ribbing, but it means purl one row knit one row.  Oops.  Hopefully I can undo it from the bottom and fix that.

I am in love with the Pure Silk Book!  I've started on the Rib and Eyelet Top, and I have yarn waiting for the Cap Sleeved Top and Ribbed Wrap Top.  Unfortunately none of them are in the lovely silk yarn, but here is my start on the Rib & Eyelet top in Svale:

And here is what it will eventually look like:

I finished mine!  Grin  I added some length and some increases at the bottom, but otherwise it's as written.  I used Cotton Fleece in Twilight Green.

I finished Diamonique!  I never figured out the stitch count problem, so I just increased on the inside edges of the neck until I got the right number of stitches.  I used the recommended yarn, since I had it in my stash.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, but the yarn isn't my favorite.  The only modification I made (on purpose) was to do 6 rounds of ribbing on the neck instead of 4.  More notes on my blog: http://merknits.blogspirit.com

7  Re: Projects from "Handknit Holidays" by Melanie Falick in Knitting: Completed Projects by MerLeigh on: January 08, 2006 05:53:47 PM
I wanted to share the Ribbon Scarf I made from Handknit Holidays.  I used Patons Lacette yarn, just a little over 1 ball.  I love all the projects in this book!  Grin

8  Re: Anthropologie-inspired capelet- By julsey723 in Knitalongs by MerLeigh on: December 18, 2005 07:12:35 PM
Everyone's capelets look great!  Grin Here's my contribution:

I used Joann's Dolcetto--it was perfect for this project!  And for those who were wondering about the raglan increases, I did about 15 repeats of rows 2 & 3.  Row 1 is a set up row, so you don't repeat it.  But this really really depends on your arm circumference and the yarn you're using.  Just measure around your arm and then measure the sleeve portion every once and awhile until you have your desired width! (leaving a little room for seaming and so it's not too tight, of course) Thanks for the great pattern, julsey!)

9  Re: Liesel Lace Scarf in Knitalongs by MerLeigh on: November 15, 2005 05:33:38 AM
Me again!  I just finished my Liesel and wanted to share.  It went a lot faster than I thought it would!

Thanks for the great pattern, MJ!  And thanks k2togbabe for writing it out--I found it easier that way.

I'm about halfway done with mine--it's going to me a Christmas present.  I'm using Peruvian Collection Baby Silk in gentle violet from www.elann.com--but I'm doubling it so it doesn't take quite as long.  I think the lace will open up a bit with blocking, but I'm quite happy with it so far!
