Wow!  Your painting is soooo cute!!  I love it.   I love how big it is too.  I know pretty close to nothing about painting, so if you don't mind me asking--  how did you do the background?  It almost looks as if there are sheets of paper layered in the background.
I've been telling my 5 year old I was going to let him paint something to put in the bathroom- but I love this idea more.
Thanks!
Thanks, I did use pieces of paper because the painting which I painted over was done in oil, and I wanted to use acrylic, and I wasn't sure if it would dry well or stick well over the oil paint, so I covered it, with pattern pieces and pages of an old book..I thinned the acrylic down so that the paper would show through a little.

on the way home from preschool my daughter and I drive by an exotic animal farm. Her favorite animals that we pass are the ostriches. About a year ago she made a drawing of these ostriches, which I lost  Embarrassed.. I found it about a month ago down in the yucky part of the basement, and it was ruined. The reason I was in the yucky part of the basement was to make room for the overhead projector that I just scored at a second-hand store for 10 bucks! so I figured I could test out the projector with her ostriches! I had a huge painting I did in painting 1 that I had been meaning to paint over for a while, so after painting and texturing the background I traced her ostriches onto a ripped apart sandwich baggie and projected them on, then painted them. She is very proud to have her ostriches on display!

sorry for the long intro.
