I wasn't going to dress my 4 month old daughter, Rinn as anything this year, because she'd just be sleeping in her stroller while her siblings went trick or treating, but while getting her dressed inspiration struck. So, I know this isn't extravagant, because like I said it was totally improvised at the last minute. I just altered the shirt and made the name tag and bandanna, but I still wanted to share.

This March we bought a new house that hadn't been updated since the 70's...and not in a cool way  
We decided to add a bedroom where the old formal living room was which left us with an odd space between our kid's rooms. So we turned it into a playroom/ kid art studio.

First I painted the main wall white and used paint markers to make frames, then accented with the green and blue from the opposite wall.

I striped the wall opposite the frames, and painted the remaining walls blue.

I used shower curtains for curtains

I tape the artwork up high and down below the kids can color in the frames.

I used an over the door shoe organizer to hold art supplies.

I ended up opening a home daycare and this room works great for the kids!

This semester I took a jewelry making class here is what I made:

Everyone's costumes are so great I feel like I shouldn't even bother entering, but I felt like sharing anyway
My husband's band played a Halloween party, that I did not plan on attending, because I didn't think we could find a sitter, but we did so I had to make a costume at the last minute using what I had on hand which was :
white sheet
elastic
red spray paint
45 minutes of time

I braided some of the sheet into a string, but it's kind of hiding between my legs

I realize it would have been better without the underclothing, but the party was mainly an outdoor party.

this pic was taken at about 2:00 am, so my costume/ hair/ makeup/me has lost some of its gusto (and sobriety)

on the way home from preschool my daughter and I drive by an exotic animal farm. Her favorite animals that we pass are the ostriches. About a year ago she made a drawing of these ostriches, which I lost  .. I found it about a month ago down in the yucky part of the basement, and it was ruined. The reason I was in the yucky part of the basement was to make room for the overhead projector that I just scored at a second-hand store for 10 bucks! so I figured I could test out the projector with her ostriches! I had a huge painting I did in painting 1 that I had been meaning to paint over for a while, so after painting and texturing the background I traced her ostriches onto a ripped apart sandwich baggie and projected them on, then painted them. She is very proud to have her ostriches on display!

  So this is my first time using resin doing any jewelry making period.
I love the resin effect so I thought I'd give it a try. When I decided that I was going to try jewelry making I went to pick up some beads at Hobby Lobby, but before I knew it I had 50 dollars worth of beads and wires and clamps in my basket, and I didn't even know if I would be good at it. So instead I went to a junk store and offered the woman 5 bucks for all of her broken jewelry. I really got quite a bit.
I used a children's illustrated dictionary from the early 60's that I got at Goodwill for the images.
without further ado here are the resin pieces

the sewing machine is the only one that I have made into a necklace so far, (although I have lot's of salvaged beads I need more basic pieces to make more)






I guess I didn't get a picture of the record player of fork. I know there are tiny bubbles, but I know what I did wrong there.

I did live painting at a Techno show Sat night.(not really my scene, but I was helping out a friend) It's painted on a door, which can be fitted with hardware and hung as a door, or left as is as art. I like to add some assemblage into my pieces, so I brought along some things I had laying around. This is what I came up with. I know it's not perfect, but after 6 hours of straight painting I'm okay with it.





The womb cover is an old drumhead attached with binder clips, and the umbilical cord is some twisted up wire.

My husband and I built a bed for our daughter, he works at a lumber yard so he was able to get the 2x4's fairly cheap(I know there not expensive, but I'm going back to school so we are poor) I upholstered it with material I got on clearance for 2 bucks a yard, all together it cost about 50 bucks, yay!
We built it in the basement so she wouldn't see it before Christmas, then Christmas Eve when she was at her grandmas we carried it up to her room, but because we didn't think about getting it through the door upstairs or the side yard gate we had to go out the side door carry it down the alley..through the street and up to the front door haha

I HATE working with black icing! I was pretty rusty, it's been about a year since I've decorated a cake, of course I notice all the mistakes , but she loved it
