I'm out of town, but I'll make it to one of these sooner or later!
Have fun folks!

Thanks very much iluvsparklies. I sort of thought people forget that fractals can be found in nature and a Sierpiński Triangle was one I could carve. Smiley

I was taught using the oil based inks too, but now love the water-based. They each have their strengths.  Water-based are less opaque which can be a good thing. Cheesy

You're welcome Bard!

Thanks Scuttlebutt (yay fellow printmakers!). I use water-based inks. I work in my home and am not keen on having solvents around. I use a Japanese baren to print on Japanese paper and I find the water-based inks work well for me. Smiley
38  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: Etching Press HELP! on: June 02, 2010 12:06:28 PM
Yeah, I'm sure that's right. A book press might work for a relief print, but etchings do need a lot more pressure.
39  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Book of Hope 2010 on: May 22, 2010 08:36:04 PM
So glad to participate again this year! Great pages so far!

I'm really happy to be able to create something to raise funds for cancer research. Since I sent my page my step-mother (a non-smoker) was diagnosed with lung cancer. I lost my grandmother to breast cancer. It's so rampant a disease it feels good to do anything proactive about it. I think alteredmommy's annual Book of Hope is a beautiful thing.
