1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Button Shirt on: January 23, 2004 10:11:18 PM
Hello Everyone!
My friend recently found this site and we have come to Mecca!  I have been hooked ever since and now I finally have something to post.  Hope you enjoy!

I got this shirt for Christmas and I think it is very cute but needed a little something.  You could use a shirt, a pair of pants, bag, scarf anything really!  Here goes:

  Supplies: Your choice of garment
Buttons in your choice of size andcolor
Thread in you choice of color/s

  Tools: Needle
            Scissors

First lay out your garment and align the buttons to you liking.  I tried to evenly disperse them by size and shade.  Then I laid them out in a line on my table so I didn't lose the order.  Now begin sewing them on!  It goes more quickly than you think, don't worry!  I went through each button hole twice because I liked the way it looked and it felt more secure.  Another thing is when I sewed them instead of cutting and tying in between each button I just carried the thread over to the next one.  it looks ugly but you don't see that part and it saves SO much time!  Just be sure that it is not too tight so it bunches the fabric and not too loose so it hangs down.

And Voila! you have a beautiful spruced up shirt!  Hope you like it: )
