1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: My husband cheated on me so I moved to Greece . . .(room redo) on: July 15, 2012 06:33:29 PM
Holy cow!  You know I care much, much less about your room than you, although the work you've put in is amazing.  I think you're amazing and strong and exactly what women should remember about themselves.  My mum was in a relationship like the one you described for years.  It took me growing up to understand what she went through being a single mother and deciding to to be alone rather than letting us be abused.  One day your children will understand just how strong you are and just how much you love them.  I am SUPER proud and I think your bedroom is the absolute perfect way to redirect your attention back to yourself.  You deserve it.  You and your family deserve all of the happiness the world has to give.  Have you thought about the kids rooms yet?  It would be an awesome way for you guys to bound as a newly situated family?  Maybe, "My ex-douchebag cheated on me so we vacationed to space, the past, under the sea, ect, ect."  Themed kids rooms are the best.  Smiley  I wish you luck and happiness.  Wink

I had an awful mishap with dying my hair.  I've been dying my hair for most of my life and I've never had something like this happen.  I mixed the violet hair dye with toner because I wanted to go pastel violet, over the SUPER light pastel pink I had.  So, I bleached my roots to white and soap capped the rest and then I dyed my hair.  When I rinsed it the water ran COMPLETELY clear.  Well.... It isn't what I was expecting at ALL.  My roots are almost indigo and the length is as well but there is still a lot of pastel pink and in between that is dusty blue/black.  My hair completely soaked up ALL of the color and it came out SO dark.  SO dark.  I'm mortified.  And I'm afraid to wash it because it looks like it's threatening to fade to gray very soon.  I was going for PASTEL violet.  I'm super bummed.  I really didn't want dark hair.  I still have bleach and developer and tomorrow I'm going to pick up some hair dye to try to repair the damage.  Any ideas on exactly how I could repair said damage?   xoxo

Edit:
SO!  I fixed my hair.  Smiley  I'm happy with it.  I used N'rage, Which I've never used. Normally I use Special effects or Manic Panic or Punky when I can get my hands on it.  I wasn't nervous about switching brands though.  The ONLY convincing I needed was to smell it.  It smells EXACTLY like Banana laffy taffy.  The colors I used were ..... *googling correct names*..... Twisted teal, for the top and Purple plum for the bottom.  I also used a bit of Special Effects atom pink or some'it.  I'd have to google it or walk to my bathroom to look.  lol Anyways I used that on the VERY tips.  You can't really tell in any of the pictures though.  Well, On to the photos.

This was after the pastel violet dye.  You can still see a LOT of the old pastel pink.

After redyeing with teal and plum.  I even took off my favorite hat for these.

You can actually see the bottom of my hair in this shot.  The tips are my favorite.  Smiley

Well, That's everything!  Thank you for taking a minute to check out my shiz.  I didn't take photos of the process because there really wasn't much of a process but I will answer any questions.  Thanks again.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Smiley xoxo

You guys....... I'm kind of seriously heart broken.  So, I was dying my hair violet for the Knight bus dealio, remember?  Well, I did.  And it's AWFUL.  I've been dying my hair for most of my life and I just don't understand it.  I mixed the violet hair dye with toner because I wanted to go pastel, over the SUPER light pastel pink I had.  So, I bleached my roots to white and soap capped the rest and then I dyed my hair.  When I rinsed it the water ran COMPLETELY clear.  Well.... P.s.
I'm going to post this in a more relevant place as well, I just wanted you guys to know that I DID try.  Fail xThe color of my hair.

Brief Description: Pretty sure Professor McGonagall will be proud- I successfully transfigured Crookshanks into Scabbers. While learning the spell I did run into problems, like when Scabbers looked more like a mole, but a few attempts later and I think I got the cross-species transfiguration down.

Holy camole!  Hands down you get an "Outstanding" or at LEAST an "Exceeds expectations".  Awesome, awesome work.   Grin

HOLY JEEZ, YOU GUYS!

My head is spinning.  Everything rocks so freaking hard.  Everything looks amazing!

Pinkleo, Thank you for your help.  You are doing such an amazing job of giving such incredible positive feedback.  You are the master of masters.   Smiley

Chughes225, You crafty minx!  My violet question was about hair dye!  lol No joke.

The Knight bus challenge is perfect because my hair is currently pink but fading fast so I had to think of something to do before I end up with salmon hair.  So, I went and got Ultra Violet Manic Panic because in my head the Knight Bus has always been violently violet.  I still have to get the rest of the supplies needed, powder and developer.  I'm going to soap cap it twice over the period of two weeks.  I'm going to mix the violet with toner and go a bit pastel.  At least that's my idea at the mo'.

I've started my transfiguration assignment and even started taken photos. Smiley I will be posting here again soooooon.
