21  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 4/25/2008 on: April 26, 2008 06:13:04 PM
Oooh, spinnerchris, I really like sparkling water!  It looks so squishy and great.

I also love ALL of the bamboo - definitely a fibre I must try, and soon!

Everyone's yarn looks great!  I really like the bamboo, and I sooo need to try spinning some.

I have a bunch of stuff I've finished recently, but just got around to taking pictures:
I think this was shetland roving.  2oz made about 70 yards

Fleece artist merino alpaca, navajo plied

HollyEqq batt, 4.8oz made about 60 yards

And my very favourite, some Pigeon Roof Studios superwash merino.  2oz made about 150 yards, and I have another 2oz to spin

(and there are more and bigger pictures here)

I'm adriennec over on Ravelry...  Pretty much my standard username everywhere,  I  think...   Smiley

Oh my gosh.  I love Loop!  I have one of her batts that I am waiting to spin...  But the spontaneous batt-yarns are just gorgeous!  So tempting.  So so sooo tempting.

And I loooove the Sweeney Todd batt.  It will make amazing yarn!

Awww, thanks Smiley

Rosecomet, the book was a gift from my boyfriend (or I might not have purchased it either...)  but the pattern seemed like a pretty straightforward yoke sweater.
Here is a series about knitting a yoke sweater, and ends with a calculator so you can make one with custom sizing.  The only difference I saw is that it is knit top-down, and mine was knit bottom-up.  I would have preferred top-down, I think...

Thanks  Smiley
I'm so excited about starting (and finishing!) my next sweater!
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first sweater! on: March 17, 2008 02:41:37 PM
I'm so excited!  I finally finished my first sweater, using fingering weight yarn!  It's Joelle's Favorite Yoke sweater from the book KnitKnit.  I knit it using Zen Yarn Garden's Bling yarn.  Roxanne from Zen Yarn Garden was great to work with, and dyed the yarn just the colour I wanted!  (much closer to the second picture - the first is a bit light and unsparkly)

Thanks for looking Smiley

I think Knitpicks does mail order for people in the US.  They have lots of great stuff Smiley

Wheee, so glad you like it!  I can't wait to see what you do with it all!
I nearly destroyed the store's fibre basket trying to find 2 braids of anything in the same colourway.  Fleece Artist roving is awesome.  It makes me happy Smiley
