To make a long story short, I was shopping downtown, walking between 2 stores and a random transient called me a "high class whore". Sadly, I took this as a bit of a compliment- I mean, at least he could tell I was classy! Anywho, told a friend about it, and this is what he came up with:

This was his first cross stitch project ever! His mom did a lot of cross stitching when he was growing up, so he had all sorts of books and materials to work with! His girlfriend, glitterknitter, couldn't be more proud!

So, I got a Schwinn cruiser from the thrift store a few weeks ago, and couldn't be more excited! I haven't had a bike in about 15 years, so I was pretty psyched to craft things for my new toy/mode of transportation. I didn't want a basket. They're very cute and pretty, but I had to be different! So, I naturally looked on craftster for inspiration! I was inspired by the bag haroldlovesmaude made for her partner in the bike swap

So, a few thrift store pillowcases later, here we are:


The lining- because I'm a badass. My tires even say that! Ha!


Gotta have sparkle! My beads wouldn't fit on my sewing needle, so I put them on some wire, formed the wire into an  "S", and sewed that on  . Whatever works.


I put a horizontal strip across the back. I figured that when I ride my bike somewhere, I can take the bag off, and use it as a clutch, and have the strip as a handle on the back.


The damn cat (not mine) getting in on the action. He kept touching me.


Action shot! Not a good pic. Doesn't do much for my bike's cuteness, but you get the idea.


I used techniques I learned from the jordy and lined zippered pouch tutorials to make my on concoction. Thanks for looking! C&C always welcome!

Thanks guys! I think it does work wet. The author said that she sweeps first with the fluffy side, and she then flips it inside out and uses it to mop (the other side is flat). I only have a regular Swiffer, so I don't use it for mopping. I'd love to see how yours turns out!
