1  Re: Covert Art Abandoners Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Muahahahaha on: October 26, 2012 04:33:43 PM
I've finally been able to abandon these!

I left the first box at a coffee shop and unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a picture.

The second one I left in a booth at a diner:

I left the third box on a windowsill in my apartment building:

(unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the boxes, which are very cool)

I left this one on a wall in a park:

And this one on a bench in a courtyard:

And I'm keeping the necklace, which I really love:

6  Fairytale Necklace- Snow White in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Muahahahaha on: February 10, 2012 06:44:29 PM

Last semester I had a class on storytelling, and we had a project on visual storytelling that was pretty much to make a visual piece that in some way tells a story. I'd been thinking about making a necklace of a fairytale for a while, so that's what I did. I already had the apple, so I decided to do Snow White. I chose what I considered five major elements of the story and selected a bead to represent each--a drop of blood (for when Snow White's mother pricks her finger and the blood falls on the snow, inspiring the name), a mirror (I wanted to use a sequin mirror but didn't have one on hand, so I used tin foil in a frame instead), the apple, a clear, kind of almost coffin-shaped bead for the glass coffin, and a heart to represent true love with the prince (I actually had wanted to use the heart for the woodsman being supposed to cut out her heart, but the plot of the necklace wouldn't have properly balanced).
