1  UNITED STATES / Kansas / New Wichita Knitting Store! on: July 08, 2007 05:01:48 AM
A new knitting store should be open in Wichita around the end of the month.  It is going to be in the Delano district (right near downtown) on Douglas.  It is called TWIST!  How excited am I?  Quite.  Quite excited indeed!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Interweave Intimates... on: February 08, 2007 08:23:09 AM
I have just started a Thong-a-Long to honor the new staff projects from Interweave Knits.  They are free : pretty socks, a thong, a camisole, a nightie...

I need to know about yarn substitutions though...
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How do you line a hat? on: December 15, 2006 05:25:31 AM
I am knitting an ear flap hat, but want to line part of it with some fleece - to be soft against my forehead and ears!  I know how to sew, but am having trouble imagining how to line a hat!  Any ideas?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Adorable Baby Sweater on: June 08, 2006 11:14:50 AM

This is my first sweater (for human or baby) and I love it.  I just keep looking at it, saying how darn cute it is.  It is from Jil Eaton's "Minnies" (with a few changes) - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book.  I used Paton's wool and also adore the oatmealy color and natural look!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Laundry Bag - pink + brown! on: May 14, 2006 02:42:38 PM
I was requested to personalize a wal-mart laundry bag for a college bound graduate.  I couldn't bring myself to do this and so I made this "M" laundry bag.  I heart the colors and am going to use the scraps for something wonderful for myself, though the brown stripes were dizzing to sew!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Pet Door Prize Ideas on: May 01, 2006 09:15:11 AM
I have been nominated to make door prizes for a friend's party.  She is raising money for some animal related cause (such a wonderful gal).  I made 2 dog blankets and have to get catnip for some cat sushi.  I wanted a few more cat items and maybe one or two more dog items.  I knit and sew.  I have to send them off in 2 weeks.  Any great ideas???
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Stitch Holders for the cheap on: January 24, 2006 11:03:23 AM

I am making long arm warmers and needed to put the stitches on stitch holders so I can make the other one before I do the thumb gussets.  I am stitch holder-less and just used some big paper clips!  They work great, are portable, cheap and re-usable!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "Poncho on the Run" vs. Clapotis on: January 08, 2006 07:10:58 AM
I just sorted through the patterns in the Knitting Pattern a Day Calendar (I hate waiting...) and found a pattern that is so similar to Clapotis.  It is Wed Aug 2, 2006 if you have this!  The pattern is just that you knit a rectangle and then when you cast off, you drop every third stitch.  It looks so close to clapotis, but I wanted a second opinion!
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Selling sewn items? on: January 07, 2006 08:29:08 PM
Planning ahead for summer selling.  It is a farmer's market with little crafts being sold.  I want to sell something with around a $10 selling price and minimum overhead (a dream?).  My partner is making pillowcases and aprons. Any ideas would be welcomed and appreciated.  I sew and knit!
