31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Altoid Tin Themed Swap Gallery on: February 26, 2006 05:30:00 AM
I received my tin from meowari and it is so wonderful - it is all pink and brown, a wonderful color combination!  The tin is covered and opens better than any covered tin I have ever seen (it is now holding my knitting notions!).  The treats inside were a small pouch, a flower pin, bracelet and necklace that I am wearing out tonight!  So fabulous!

I just received a wonderful RELAX tin from tantrum - it is so darn creative I can't believe it.  It had a tin and the black and white disk spins!  Yep!  Amazing.  There was also a little book that had a chocolate (past tense, gone...), some tea (in a cup now) and some Burt's Bees stuff.  YIPEE - it isn't working though, I am so excited by the tin and not relaxed!!!

I just sanded with sandpaper until all of the paint was gone and then used the good ole modge podge!

This is the only picture I have of the tin I sent to my other partner.  It was a Tiki Tin!  Umbrellas for tiki drinks, beach-y stuff and some other things I can't remember!

35  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). on: February 22, 2006 12:31:49 PM
Some people asked for the pattern for my pink cabled panta that my pup was wearing on page 33 (reply 320).

It looks like this is the pattern I made up for the cabled panta.  I just used some math to figure out how long to make each section.  It is just basic cabling and not too fancy.

m1- I knitted into the front and back
c2f - slip one stitch onto cable needle, knit one stitch from left needle and then one from the cable needle
c4f - 2 onto the cable needle and knit 2 from other needle
c6f- 3 onto the cable needle and knit 3 from other needle
c8f - 4 onto cable needle and knit 4 from other needle
k2tog - knit 2 stitches together

36  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Clapotis from Knitty on: February 18, 2006 04:36:36 PM
I tossed the labels when I wound them into balls - alas.  I think it is cotton, but maybe not!  I love it nonetheless!!

I love knitting this - it is perfect for watching TV or taking to my knitting group!  I am knitting it with Red Heart Luster Sheen (it is a mercenized cotton) - knitting turned me onto natural fibers and higher end yarn (called a yarn snob at times!), but I love this stuff.  It is soft and silky with draping quality and all of my favorite colors.  I need to retract all of my Red Heart bashing of the past.

Glitter is good for the soul... it makes it sparkely...

Swaps should not make people teary! It is a good lesson in going with the flow - that is what I did with mine.  It doesn't look at all as it was planned.  Now, I feel the pressure too!  Let's all just take a deep breath and eat some more chocolate!

I woke up at about 2:30 this morning and remembered that in my dream I was making a recon'd altoid tin.  I hope that it looks as good as it did in my dream...
