1  UNITED STATES / Kansas / New Wichita Knitting Store! on: July 08, 2007 05:01:48 AM
A new knitting store should be open in Wichita around the end of the month.  It is going to be in the Delano district (right near downtown) on Douglas.  It is called TWIST!  How excited am I?  Quite.  Quite excited indeed!

3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Anyone knitting "Glee"? on: May 02, 2007 02:30:38 PM
I just bought glee and after reading the pattern I thought about steeking.  Do you think that you could knit is all in the round and then steek the v-opening?  I just read Eunny J's steeking encyclopedia and think it could work to avoid all of the straight stock stitching...
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Flying into Germany with needles? on: April 18, 2007 11:40:36 AM
I had no trouble with my knitting needles, but oddly enough, they did take my plastic tapestry needle when leaving the country.  How strange is that?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Honeymoon Cami on: March 09, 2007 08:22:04 AM
I cast on for the interweave frenchy camisole with elann sonata and didn't like how it was looking.  I wanted to see if the sonata would work for the honeymoon and found your post - yipee!  I shall re-cast on promptly!

I am going to attempt the camisole in some beautiful mercerized cotton and will let you know about that!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Esprit merino wool capelet on: February 12, 2007 04:20:50 AM
Your capelet is beautiful - I love that color.  It looks more like the picture on a person, so I might just give it a go!

Thank you so much - I now have to knit that capelet too!  It is perfect with the collar and buttons.  The shape doesn't look like the one in Wrap Style though. I must find a closer pattern!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Interweave Intimates... on: February 08, 2007 08:23:09 AM
I have just started a Thong-a-Long to honor the new staff projects from Interweave Knits.  They are free : pretty socks, a thong, a camisole, a nightie...

I need to know about yarn substitutions though...
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How do you line a hat? on: December 15, 2006 05:25:31 AM
I am knitting an ear flap hat, but want to line part of it with some fleece - to be soft against my forehead and ears!  I know how to sew, but am having trouble imagining how to line a hat!  Any ideas?
