Thank you my fellow crafsters!! I work in many mediums not just beads but no matter what...I always go back to them. I just love them and they are so easy to work with. Why? Because even tho they are small they have large easy-to-needle-thru holes in them. I have a taboret that has ten drawers that hold my beautiful Delica beads; whenever I need inspiration all I have to do is open the bead drawers and scan the stunning array of colors in there and I am ready to create again.   Smiley

That is phenomenal.  What are the finished dimensions?  Your detail is wonderful and that is such a lovely tribute.

Thank you! The finished piece is 5" by 7" and contains 24,000 beads. The beads are called Miyuki Delicas and I work with size 11.0.  There are many different sizes but I like the tiny ones because there are over 1100 differnt colors of them. You can fit over a hundred of these beads (well over a hundred) on a teaspoon. Glad you liked it!!

...this was done using beads...very tiny beads, 24,000 of them. The person who requested this portrait (as her pet had passed on from old age) had asked if the dog could be made to look younger, hence the difference in the darker coloring in the replication.

and here is the photo I worked from:

You know, I was wondering if your dolls are washable...I see lots of knit and crochet dolls and animals and wonder if my nieces and nephews would get them so dirty that they would need to be cleaned...I guess it is like any store bought stuffed animal...they can be wiped clean?

I work with acrylic yarns which are washable and the filler (batting) inside the doll is also washable and non-allergic. I never washed one of my dolls because I never have them long enough to get dirty...LOL!

Below is a pic of one of her other requests for a doll...this one for Princess Peach (my own pattern) from Super Mario Brother's game...she loves that game!

Thank you!! My grand daughter requested her; her next request is the Frozen sisters. Better get to work!

Very cute. Her face is lovely and so is her hair. What pattern did you use?

I used my own pattern making it up as I went along.  The only part of the pattern that was not mine was the skirt. You can get the pattern here.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving you kind comment.

This is my version of Strawerry Shortcake. Missing some strawberries for her hat...waiting for more to come in the mail. But for the most part she is done.
