That picture is absolutely HILARIOUS!  My coworker & I got a great laugh out of it, especially the thought of trying to get our kitties into sweaters! You are a brave soul let me tell you.  The sweater is cute and extra kudos for getting it on the cat AND taking a picture!

Gorgeous! I can only follow patterns and I'm boobalicious so it's nice to find a tank top pattern that works with them, not against them!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: crazy necked off center lace raglan (or: i am never knitting bottoms up again!) on: October 04, 2006 12:27:46 PM
that is gorgeous!  A pattern would be super, so then I can add it to my long long long list of projects to do. I love it!

I found it in a quick Google search - Candle Flame Shawl

If for some reason that doesn't work, I have it saved on my pc so I can email it to you.  Smiley
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Magknits Saturday Market Bag: HELP! on: September 28, 2006 05:34:56 PM
Hi guys!

I am a relatively new knitter. I have been knitting for quite a few months but I haven;t really expanded my skills. Uh oh. But I am working one it.

Anyway. I want to make this.

Okay, if you don't want to click on the link, here is the stitch pattern.
 Lace Background Stitch -
Row 1 (RS) k1 *yo, sl 1, k1, yo, psso the knit st and the following yo; repeat from*
Row 2 *P2, drop the yo from the proceeding row; rep from* end p1.
Row 3 K2, rep from * of Row 1, end k1.
Row 4 P3 * drop the yo from the proceeding row, P2; rep from*

What I need help with is, I cast on, then do what the first row says. When I get to the second row, the YO from the first row is the second stitch, so if I purl two then I've passed the YO. What's the problem, maybe I am knitting the first row wrong. I knit one, slip one purlwise, knit one, YO, then pass the knit stitch over the YO and the slip stitch. Oh okay, now that I think about it, I really do think I am knitting the first row wrong, but what do I do after I pass the knit stitch over? I am not talking about the repeat, I mean what other stitch do I pass over? I am so confused.

Any help? Thanks Smiley

I see what you are doing - the first row should be this:

Knit one *YO, slip one purlwise, knit one, YO, then pass the SLIPPED stitch over the knit stitch & YO* Repeat

That would give you the P2 at the beginning of row 2. HTH

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cotton-Ease is coming back! YAY! on: September 27, 2006 07:46:56 AM
I have 6 balls of the bright orange too. Yikes, I hate orange. I got it at a good price and I have been looking for something to knit with it ever since. Anyhow, I have finally decided to make this sweater (without the turtle neck) http://gringa.org/archives/cat_olympic_knitting.php

Ooooh I like that sweater A LOT.  I have about 5 skeins of Popsicle Blue...if I can get my hand on a few more (EBAY!) then I bet I can make that.  Definitely adding that to my to-knit list.

YAY! I guess I can use of some of my stash without fear! I hope they come out a greater variety of colors. I can't wait!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bust shaping OR short row in the round on: September 25, 2006 12:24:25 PM
Ok, I've Googled and looked everywhere...maybe I just don't understand, but I'm finally waving the white flag and asking for help from you talented gals! (are you buttered up yet?).  So, here it is; I am working on the Leaf Tee and I'm now about 3 1/4 inches past the armhole. From what I've been reading it's a good place to start some bust shaping. I was thinking short rows, but for some reason I can't wrap my brain around short rows  in the round for a top down raglan. Can it be done and how? Websites I can look at? What other methods can I use for bust shaping besides short rows? I just need to make room for the girls (I'm a DD). HELP! Smiley
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Too many WIPs-along on: September 21, 2006 12:32:04 PM
Ok, well, I think I will join, though I warn you, I am a HUGE procrastinator (hence all the WIPS!) and so I will try to post updates.  I mean, I haven't even updated my blog since March because I'm lazy & don't finish projects!  Anyhow, here is what I am working on:

Leaf Lace Tee (pattern from Craftster, I forgot who did it) - 1/4 done
Shawl #1 for mom - started LAST OCTOBER! I hate it & I'm short yarn. I may frog it and turn into clapotis.
Shawl #2 for mom - supposed to be a mom's day gift, only 1/3 done. Cashmere goodness (my poor mom and her neglected projects!)
My knitting olympics project - the Fir sweater by our own Loisgriffinwannabe. Only swatched and I was stuck on changing to my gauge. Must work on this.
Chinese Charm bag - from SNB. Needs to be seamed, lined & have handles put on.

Plus I have to make a two scarves for my aunts who will be visiting in a month.

That's it, though I have a few other projects lined up, but I really must finish what I have now.

So count me in!
