11  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: coffee mugs. lots of them. on: February 25, 2007 12:54:19 PM
I guess the most obvious idea is just to use them as holders - place them around your workspace, or wherever, for pencils, pens, knitting needles, crochet hooks, buttons, corks, what-have-you. You could also personalize them and stuff goodies in them for when you need a quick gift for a holiday or when you go to visit someone.

Hahaaa! I can't even express how much I love this - especially the name. Or maybe it's the hat... who knows. Brilliant stuff.

Wow. I can't get over this calendar. It's so special, but also customizable. It's giving me a lot of ideas - and the holiday cards are so clever!
15  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: I made paper! Handmade paper! on: February 25, 2007 12:43:52 PM
It looks great, I love the colors! I recently my made first paper as well, for an art project, and I had the same dilemma... well, here's my paper, NOW what? It's so pretty by itself, maybe you could just use it to mat or frame photos? Or write/stamp quotes, who knows. And I love the heart. Smiley

18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Store-bought bag + Hand-done embroidery on: May 03, 2005 06:27:53 PM
My first embroidery project!

I love this bag. I bought it at the H&M in Georgetown, Washington DC because I liked the design and the whole thing just yelled "blank canvas(!!!)" to me. Then I read some posts on this board and watched some videos at that stitch dictionary site, googled for an image to work from and... yes! Here it is!

Two shots:

Zoom -out- so you can see the prettiness of the bag...

Zoom -in- so you can see the actual design.

The rose picture was blown up and modified a bit from this little thing: http://www.white-works.com/rose8.jpg

Woo! First time posting a project on Craftster, too. What a rush. Haa.
19  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: domain name and web hosting? advice please! on: April 25, 2005 12:59:57 PM
1) Someone asked about switching a domain name to a different host. To answer very simply, YES, this is possible. I've had to do it once, and, well, it was really confusing to me so I'm not the best person to ask. I would suggest e-mailing your current host and/or the host you wish to switch to, to ask them how to do it with their systems. Your domain name and your hosting account are (in theory) two separate things, so switching should definitely be an option for you.

2) Here to add another recommendation to the list! http://www.totalchoicehosting.com is EXCELLENT. I used them for a year before I decided not to run my random little website anymore. They are cheap, have tons and tons of options, offer cheap domain names, and their customer service is amazing. You send in a little "ticket" and even those with "low" priority are answered in a personal way usually within 24 hours! I couldn't have been happier with their service and when I start another site I'll definitely be going with them. In addition, they offer a handy device called cpanel (other hosts may give you this as well) which makes it incredibly easy to manage your site, subdomains, FTP accounts, stats, extras (like shopping carts), etc, etc. But that's enough raving from me, eh?

This is a great thread... I would definitely suggest anyone who's thinking about a domain name to write all these sites down and visit them all to decide, that's definitely what I'll do!
