11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / armwarmers, wristwarmers and an ornament on: January 28, 2004 11:02:30 PM
*phew* i FINALLY got my camera working again!  so here are some projects i've done, inspired by this lovely message board, of course...

green armwarmers
http://www.columbia.edu/~gjs92/green.jpg
made these for my friend kat from two types of sock yarn i had around.  the second one started striping, which i totally wished happened in the first one.  *sigh*  o well.

skully wrist/handwarmers
http://www.columbia.edu/~gjs92/skullys.jpg
i started an intarsia/fairisle knitting class and was a big nerd about it so i practiced!  totally inspired by the skully wristwarmers here, i made mine because its damn cold in my basement office.

and lastly...

the most awesomest (and posted waaaaay too late, i know... but that's because i just found this website) christmas ornament in the whole entire world...

Grin the Jessica Simpson 'nelly' hat tribute! Grin
http://www.columbia.edu/~gjs92/js_ornament.jpg

i totally forgot i did this project, but my friend reminded me with pics from her christmas party!  it was a tree trimming party, and i thought what better to represent me but making a smaller version of one of my favorite patterns?  last minute, i thought it would be awesome to stick someone's face in it so a friend found Jessica Simpson, pasted it onto some card stock, stuffed the finished hat with cotton balls and secured the pic in place!  definite scrap yarn project (which i posted asking about, duh) for next year!   Tongue

14  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:baby stuffies!!! on: January 25, 2004 09:02:07 AM
my cousin recently had a baby and i made two blankets - a lighter cotton one for day, and a heavier (but not too heavy) one for cooler nights.  baby booties and those fingerless mitten things are super easy and really quick to knit up too...

20  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re:Tarot cards on: January 23, 2004 09:57:30 PM
ooh i like the picture idea and maybe you can even take it further by matting the cards in one of the more complex tarot reading formations?
