The instructions say laser printer or copier, but I wonder if it would work for inkjet printers.  It looks very cool and an easy way to do a transfer (which I never have the best luck with).

Alteredmommy, the Asian page you made is very striking (that little rat is a nice touch)

Racky, that page is too funny (and I love that color combo as well).

The butterfly page is very pretty, Heini.

As a crazy paper hoarder, I must say that I love the papers used on all those pages.

I love the dragonflies, the lettering on Racky's and Phizzy's fancy drawin' skills.

I received a most beautiful lady from Crafty Dame.  I love this color sceme, the dictionary background, and of course the lovely lady's textured tail.

Thank you, she's gorgeous!

Yay, I'm glad you liked it and thanks for all the positive comments!

Some of the black is embossed stamping (the swirls, the numbers) some of it is 7Gypsies rub-on (the straight and wavy lines) and some is just hand drawn marker (the little x's).

The background is green acrylic painted over in places with Tim Holtz crackle paint in Broken China (which I had to try despite the expense).  I then sort of rubbed some brown ink into the cracks and where the two paints come together.

The number panels I actually painted a yellowish color and stamped the number on with clear ink and embossed.  Then I covered the whole thing with both brown and yellow ink and ironed over the little panels to melt the embossing off (with a paper bag over it to soak up the embossing- like batik).  Lastly came my crooked-and-only-fit-for-art stitiching.

I love the swirly, stone-like background on Phizzy's page.

(OMG, I just saw Corey Feldman and Telly Sevales!!!!)

I love those two pages.  Is the transparent one rigid, like plastic?  Also, Phizzy's work is always gorgeous.

I actually bought a "vanishing ink" pen to draw guidelines with.  The ink dissappears over time.
17  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Tip In Swap with a twist~ CLOSED for signups on: April 01, 2008 06:39:02 AM
Does anyone else manage to get their background and maybe a few embellishments done well ahead of send-out day only to find they get blocked about where they were trying to go with the page and what sorts of finishing touches they would like to add making everything run up to the very last minute and occasionally a day-past the due date because they can't seem to quite get it together?

Or is that just me?

I have those same butterflies!  I made a paper mache egg for my neighbor and a bookmark for my Mom from them.  I love how you used them here.  The giant face and newpaper nest are very cool.  I would have to say, though, that little mister owl is my favorite part.

Okay, I got momentarily confused with the avatar thing, but now I'm better....

Anyway, that is a great page- I like the muted colors and the way the fibers are used.

It was the box from the dalek/Dr Who themed choc egg I bought my hubbie for easter. It has a little button that you press to make it say "Exterminate"! he giggles like a loon every time he presses it, the big kid  Grin

LOL...that's too cute.  I wish they had stuff like that here.  I would continually press that button and giggle like a loon, too.  As it is, I have to be content with saying it myself around the house to make my kids giggle (my daughter loves Dr. Who, although she was quite sad when Rose was gone).

Oh and (back on topic) that is a very beautiful flower page, Carrieme.  Monet is one of my favorites.
