(sings) I-got-cards-from-Tee!  I-got-cards-from-Tee!

Me and my Burro:

If I had a burro, I would totally wear that to ride it.

And my personal favorite, the Illiterate Pirate:

Thanks Tee!

I got my card from TEE!

Americana Crow:

He's so cute- and I especially like that it's glittery (which you can't really tell from the scan).  One can never have too much glitter.

Thank you!

These cards are all fantastic!

I received three of my very own beautiful cards for this swap.

The first one is from Nightlight and features birds and the color purple, two of my favorites.  The birds are even fluffy!   The bottom one is from goatgoddess and depicts my favorit movie, The Wizard of Oz and includes a super cool key attached to it.  She also used some very pretty multicolored thread that makes me want to get some.  The last one is from Tygir and has some very cute ladybug fabric and buttons and beads.  The ladybug button was broken when it got here, but the pieces were all still there so it wasn't anything a little superglue couldn't fix.

I love them, thank you all so much!

Well, I recently recieved this fabulous angel package from bruisenraincloud.  In it were these wonderful cards:

The first one is "Smitten Contessa needle knitting fleece" and the second is "A totally terrific tootsie roll tatted on a silly tabby kitty".  The third was attached to a box with a LOT of buttons in it that I can't wait to use!

Oh, but that's not all!  Here is the box that came with everything:

It included a set of tootsie roll playing cards, and the aforementioned buttons and cards.  But that's still not all!  I also got this great bag of goodies:

It includes foam stamps, more buttons (including some great huge ones my daughter tried to take off with) and various bits and images.

Thank you so much!  It's a wonderful package- I love it.

Okay, I've been busy finishing up cards for some swaps I'm in.  These were for a Collage House swap on another forum.

These four were made for a glaze painted newspaper swap.  Actually, these cards have a story.  I was stuck on this swap for literally weeks.  One week I received an random envelope with an ATC and some papers, buttons, stamps, and bits in it from someone on the postcard exchange that saw my address and my profile about ATC's (needless to say, the kindness will be repayed).  In that envelope was a flower made of newpaper and a button.  The whole thing slipped my mind for a couple of weeks until I had a dream about that flower (that I had forgotten was in there).  It's true, my brain really does solve my problems while I'm sleeping.  Hence, these are called "Serendipity".  Also, my four-year-old daughter, an artist in her own right, picked the paint colors for these.

47  Re: Confused with Crayon Batik Technique in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Queen Of Fools on: May 30, 2007 04:21:10 PM
Yeah, in my experience markers haven't worked well- although highlighters give an interesting effect if you haven't put a really thick layer of crayon down.  Watercolors work well, especially if you've crinkled the paper up so the color can seep into the cracks.  Watered down acrylic might work too.

This is an example of the highlighter/crayon thing (although, I can't remember which color is which- I think it's blue highlighter over orange crayon)

What another great idea! love the stitching!

Thanks, everyone.  I've been wanting to do more sewing but sometimes I can't start because I have sewing machine fear and think I'm going to ruin whatever it is I'm working on.  I'm getting over it, though, 'cause I have some larger works waiting to be stitched.  Also, I joined the fabric swap to work on some more- they were fun to make.

Anyway, I got this a couple of days ago from lilfishyinbigblu but absentmindedness has prevented me from posting it.

In her card she talks about counting crows, hence the "two is for joy".  I love the combination of photo and collage elements- it's fantastic.  Thank you!

You're very welcome.  I got your card in the mail today, too!  It's totally fantastic- and cheeky to boot.

(The pic is a bit big, but I wanted everyone to be able to read the words.)

Thank you so much, it's wonderful.

These are all wonderful.  This is a great swap because it can be done with whatever type craft you like to do.  For example, I got this fantastic sewn pouch from J_en.  Here is the front:

She included a bird (which I love) and tucked into the pouch was a wonderful poem about birds that have a singing competition.  The back of the pouch is awesome too (and I can't imagine how much time it took to make!).

I love it, thank you.  Yours is on it's way, I hope you like it as much as I like mine!
